This has been a much trumpeted return of Mark Silvestri and I felt "so what"about it.It seems to me he thinks"the more squiggly lines I put in the better the drawings will be."What is with this trend of more is better.Silvestri is a good craftsman and his storytelling is pretty solid-why the extraneous detail in EVERYTHING?It's like Bachalo and his halos around everything he draws-if everything is special then nothing is.
ANYONE????
im just upset with the weird deal marvel has with wizard where wizard prints entire issues of marvel books long before they hit shelves (4 and new xmen 151 are 2 in recent memory)
I loved it, but I'm a sucker for all the extra detail. Plus, Age of Beastocalypse? White Beast was awesome looking. I'm just scared it's all heading for a big reboot where Jean never really died (again).
i liked it, but i agree, the wizard and marvel deal is VERY annoying. A sneak-peek is cool, but the whole issue... that just blows. As to the Silvestri art, I've seen his pencils, both older and newer, and while he is maybe a little more detailed, I think it's really a matter of his pencils growing more tight, giving the inker more to actually define, instead of just embellish. I think his work is better than ever. As far as the storyline, I'll just have to wait and see. It's fairly familiar in that it's an x-men of the future/parrallel deal, but so far I like the elements that have been brought into this one. But, hey...they've been known to really screw-up something that started out as a pretty good cocept. But so far(except for the Xorn carp) I've really enjoyed Morrison's take on the muties.
Yeah, I picked up the book hopeing there was a good deal extra stuff in it than the Wizard preview, and was sadly disappointed that there was only one page in it I hadn't already read, the last one where Cyclops says he quits. And that wasn't even a great cliffhanger either, seeing as how we already know Cyclops is dead in the future. Big let down. But the next issue won't be spoiled before I read it at least.
My only hope is that the Big Lebowski kills me before the Germans can cut my d### off.
