Welcome to the 3rd installment of the best drop per turn. This time around we focused on the 3rd drop only for Marvel VS. DC would get their turns after the JLA set, so that means no Dr. Light or even Arsenal.
Army decks has been omitted as explained on previous threads. (Please check Drop 1 and 2)
The list is quite arbitrary and your list would be a welcome one in this thread, in this way we could compare notes and try to analyze who is best per ranking.
3rd turn basic statistics:
ATK DEF
Hi 7 6
Average 4-5 4-5
Here is the Top 10 3 drop on Marvel Vs:
Already a tie for the 10th:
10. Thing, Ben Grimm 5/5 FF
His stats are still average, but slightly above most 3 drop. A good thing for him when you play FF with toys is that he can stun small drop by KO the equipment.
10. She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters 4/4 FF
She Hulk on the otherhand is just average on offense but goes to a 6/6 on defense which is quite good. Common Enemy staple.
9. Orphan, Guy Smith 3/6, X-Static
A staple for X-Static deck to see him on turn 3. His extra cost of revealing another X-Static character is not much but his ability to give +1ATK if there is no other characters is a big plus. He can become 6/6 on the 3rd turn alone, combo the Cafe by 4th and you you got an 8/8 X-Static there.
8. Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood 4/5 Spidey Friends
If he has evasion this card would have been very good, but with his current stature he is ok to make it to the top 10. When he is team attacking then attackers becomes immune to stun. Saw him fit on small decks that likes to team attack.
A tie for the 7th spot:
7. Lady Lark, Linda Lewis 7/4 Squadron
Marvel version of Black Canary is really a blast that makes her one of the strongest in terms of Atk. The drawback is you get additional endurance lost for each card in your hand when she gets stunned. Play her correctly with the no hand strategy then she is good as the next American Idol.
7. Mammomax, Elephant Boy 7/4 Brotherhood
Also a whopping 7 Atk is still very good. The drawback of being exhaused is nothing much when you are playing New Brotherhood, woudl definitely be a staple in the tourney.
6. Helmut Zemo<>Citizen V, Tactician 4/5 TB
Pretty average stats with 4/5 but can be a pretty strong defensive player that gives those adjacent to him an extra +3 Atk. It doesnt even need to be a TBolts as long as they are ready. As Yoda used to say, "Ready he not is"
5. Suicide, Chris Daniels 4/5 Underworld
This guy is quite Under rated, but goes nicely for most Underworld deck due to his ability of not being KO. All you need to do is discard 2 more Underworld which you can later use for either Strength or Black Magic.
Another tie for 4th:
4. Quicksilver, Pietro Maximoff 3/4 Brotherhood and Quicksilver, Mutant Avenger 4/5 Avengers
Speedsters usually follow a ready mechanism and this two Quicksilvers are quite pretty good of their own. The brotherhood one plays good during off initiative, while the avenger keeps on getting ready for each team attacks you did on that turn.
4. Speed Demon, Second Chance Speedster 5/4 TB
Another Speedster who is becoming a staple on most Faces of Evil deck. His ability doesn't kick in until the 6th drop which you need to keep him around by that time. T-Bolts are getting good for their small drop and Speed Demon happens to be one of them.
3. Captain America, Steve Rogers 6/4 Avenger
Cap is really more a team attacker and has been a good leader in providing a +1 Atk not too mention providing other characters adjacent to become an Avenger. Poor in defense but strong in offense once you get him going with Playroom or Legendary battles.
2. Black Panther, T'Challa 4/3 Avengers
Why is 4/3 stats in the number 2 slots! Dont get me wrong, but played perfectly with all those Avengers on the resource would still give him counters and could go as high as 7/6 on the 3rd turn alone. Put him on a later turn and get those nasty counters onto him.
1. Wolverine, Logan 6/6 X-Men
The best there was and the best X-Men. Good stats at 6/6 which is strong on both offense and defense. The extra drawback to reveal an X-Man is not much. I am pretty sure putting him on number 1 would create an uproar from the "I hate Wolverine" club. Sorry guys.
I here by nomitate this thread the biggest eye sore since Anna Nicole Smith. Also I nomitate you for "Useless thread starter of the year." I do not agree with your lists either, just in case some mod tries to push warning point on me for spam =D.
Why do you keep posting this stuff? I swear it's pointless.
What does a nooblet get from knowing what are the top 10 cards at each drop? First of all there aren't that many nooblets on this forum. Second of all, the potential young'un gets ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Deck construction in VS involves building your deck around teams and not drops. If anything you are misleading the potential nooblets to ignore things such as synergy, affiliation in order to fit what seems like the best drop at each spot! If you really wanted you'd be much better outlining the best drop for each team and for certain archetypes and why.
The point that you are skipping DC... what is the point of that? Is there a format where you can play with Speed Demon AND She-Hulk? I'm pretty sure not, so I mean basically this whole thread would just be a rambling of yours to point out something people don't need?
Why are skipping army charecters by the way? Considering the best deck in the format runs quite a few of them - especially curve style - I think it'd be pretty dumb of you to ignore that.
If you really think that your posts are that helpful, just go write an article which newblets can use as a compendium. Your information is just presented in such a way that it's completely useless and unhelpful.
BTW, you also missed notables such as Rogue(3), She-Hulk(3) - She-Thing is a 2 drop, and Brother Voodoo(3).

I am sorry if you feel that way, but it is really a matter of perspective. Some people like to post that they like to hear Eye of the Tiger or Tell how they arranged their cards. I guess if that's ok then hearing what people think who they believe is the top 10 seems pretty much the same.
