I'm looking at flying Southwest to go to Gen Con So Cal and I've only been to LA once (E3 2004) so I'm sorry if I sound stupid, but which of these destinations will be closest to Anaheim?

I went to LAX last year, and it worked fine

john wayne in costa mesa *i think its costa mesa i may be wrong* is the closest to anahiem. but i think thats only commuter planes. so youd have to fly into one of the major airports (LAX) and catch another flight from there.


*edit* okay im totally wrong commercial airlines fly in there as well.

ok, first of all, if you can fly into Orange Country/John Wayne Airport, that would be closest to the convention center.

flying into LA would probably be cheaper, but then you have to drive like 45 to 60 minutes to get to Anaheim depending on traffic (especially during the week).

not saying that if you have an afternoon flight, the northbound fwy from OC to Anaheim may be a parking lot too, but its closer.

Ontario is a convenient airport if you know the area.

forget burbank (further than LA) and San Diego (two hour drive).

when the cab asks where to take you, the convention center is right across the street from Disneyland.

Going into Ontario, it was the cheapest on Southwest, about $210/person. Getting a rental car as well.
