has anyone tried GCPD Officers+Clocktower+Longshot to set up Blob (protected with Cover Fire) and War on Humanity (along with Scarlet Witch-2)?
if so, i'd like to see some other builds.
i tried to do this at my last hobby league and, even though i took first, i certainly thought the deck needed some work.
I used to use GCPD Officers with Storm (4) to protect my other characters, and eventually developed that into the Dr. Light abusing Sin City. ^_^
This idea's actually sounding pretty hot too. The Longshot / Clocktower engine will work better with Blob. Here are some things to consider.
* Lanterns in Love: It'll effectively count as Cover Fire 5-X, so long as you exhaust two Officers for it.
* Batman, The Dark Knight: Since you're drawing a buttload of cards anyway, why not make the most of it?
* More X-Men: Likewise, you're already rolling with Longshot; why not bank on that with a few extra X-Men? Vicarious Living would make Rogue (4) a more-than-reasonable drop to copy Longshot if you're defending. You can use CotA instead of / in addition to LiL for Blob, and Sunfire to be hot anti-swarm tech.
Clocktower x4
Wayne Manor x2
War on Humanity x4
Mellenium x3
Marvel Teamup x1
Cover Fire x4
Press the Attack x2
Fizzle x1
Bat Signal x2
Have a Blast! x1
Utility Belt x1
i had Harvey Dent in there for a while, and he was sometimes really good.... but he's fairly "win more"
i think i wanna put in a Pyro.... i have a hard time getting a BHood guy to teamup with...
Lanterns in Love sounds like a pretty good idea.... i usually exhaust my guys to set up for a good Clocktower'ing, but bringing Blob back would be pretty sweet.
lol thats actually a really really funny idea heh. prolly wanna run more teamups because your 3teaming it and only running 4 in total. and trust me, you dont wanna waste an alfred to go get a ateam up.
Clocktower x2

dude.... Useful.... i have a hard enough time drawing Clocktowers with twice that number in the deck...
in fact, my first two (or so) Longshot activations are naming Clocktower and GCPD Officer. ;-)
Press the Attack is also very sweet in this deck... an extra Longshot activation or a surprise Alfred'ing can turn a loss around.
i think, for the Lanterns in Love (sweet idea, BTW... i hadn't even considered it) it's looking like:
-1 Utility Belt
-1 Scarlet Witch
+2 Lanterns in Love
the Utility Belt was in there for abilities that can stun outside of combat because people stun cops before attacking Blob (so they have to worry less about Cover Fire), but if i can bring back Blob, that's just as good.... i'll just be glad that no one plays Firestar.
as for the Witch, yes.... i was bemoaning the lack of BHood guys.... but i don't want to play her until turn 5 anyway. and by then, i'll be able to BSignal for her.
...ok, now that i've played it a little more... what about Thinking Outside the Box?
it seems like it would suck while i was trying to dig for something with Longshot, but it could also get me to draw someting i whiffed past. plus, Clocktower will put things i want to draw, but don't want to Longshot for where i can draw them....
does that make any sense, or do i need another cup of coffee this morning?
The School can either let you draw twice a turn with Longshot or to use Alfred immediately upon hitting the field if you've teamed up with the X-Men. It's a solid card in this sort of build.
It's on my to-do list, after Barry Allen abuse and EE Resource KO. PTA's only better than the School when using it on bigger characters. If you're using most PTAs for Longshot and the like, the School is just so much better. Trust me, Xavier's School would be in Sin City if I could reliably search for it; re-readying Shimmer, Batman, Babs, or Alfred? Yes, please!
Clocktower is a way to exhaust Cops in the resource row for free reinforcement, with the side benefit of setting up your next draw.
I'd been messing with the idea of Brotherhood/Cops when I first saw the 2 drop Scarlet Witch. I was already using Cover Fire but couldn't seem to stay alive long enough to make it work. I finally found the overlooked Blob and had pretty good results against other 'Lower Tier' decks. Here's my list:
the Clocktowers are for ensuring a hit from Longshot (mainly) and also as a way to exhaust the Cops.
also, it's amazing how many times i've used the second ability of the Clocktower to replace a face-down Wayne Manor with a War on Humanity, Team-up or Cover Fire, too.
Pleasant Distraction sounds pretty good.... the fewer guys attacking me, the better.
the only problem with Birthing Chamber is, there's already waaaaaaaaaaay too many things i need in my resource row. i have to have 2 teamups, a Clocktower, and the rest should be War on Humanity.... plus, i've usually got a fistfull of Longshot'd cards in my hand.
with less Cops, i'm jealous of how many utility cards you've got in your build ;)
Why not run UN Building as your team-up. With all of the card draw, you should be able to get one, and that way you only need one team-up to make everything workout.
