Avengers is really strong as proven with recent tournaments, does the JLA stand a chance?
Lets find out as Brian Micheal Bendis goes head to head with Grant Morrison. Morrison won the coin toss and elected to go first.
1st turn:
Morrison put Ray Palmer<>Atom on the board in concealed.
Bendis put Rick Jones also in concealed.
Morrison said, "I really like Sue Dibny to be more of a JLA rather than JLI, but I leave that to Brad Meltzer when he play JLI." Score 49-49
2nd turn:
Bendis put Natasha Romanoff<>Black Widow, while
Morrison put Red Tornado on the board. Bendis declares team attack and mutual stunned to Black and Red, plus Bendis target Ray Palmer from Black Widow's ability.
Morrison asked, "wait I think I can used Ray Palmer's ability to prevent me from getting stunned."
Bendis, "Yeah but you need to go back to your hand to prevent it."
Morrison, "What that's unfair. Maybe we should call a judge"
What happen next? I don't know you tell me, since I am just the Watcher here.
whats this whole thread about? is one of those random threads you keep posting and not getting warning points for? I really don't understand why you made this. Seriously, can you explain to me what is going on....I am lost. Also Palmer has 2 atk, someone cheated or got to play a free wayne manor, team up, and a really concealed character, which is so concealed you can't see it within 10 feet of the board.
Avengers is a very offensive Set, while JLA has alot or good offensive and Defensive pts. I think JLA is the Better team, cause they have Better search, there guys are bigger without the draw backs, (Superman vs HUlk)
I was hoping to see somemore of the "play no more pts this turn pts"
hercules is a better play against jla than ulk in most situations unless jla has odd initiative as i see it, since turn 6 cap and then turn 7 herc means herc no stunback in to the opposing 6 or 7 then readies and takes down the other one that he didn't get yet, and since warbird should have bounced the opposing 4 and 5, that leaves you to swing for a lot of damage.
avengers have the initiative on turn 1. turn one antman concealed with reservist in row. against atom concealed with magnificent 7 in row. avengers:48 to jla : 48
turn 2 jla drops out who? red tornado? connor hawkeye? wth a watch tower in row? avengers drop a hulk in row, and recruit wasp concealed.
jla swings in with their 2 for a total of 4, while the avengers team attack the tornado with no stunback for 2. a: 44/ jla 46.
turn 3 avengers drop warbird as a resource and then recruit panther, revealing all 3 reservists for a 7/6 turn 3. jla brings out zuriel or aquaman. red tornado front row if zuriel on team, or aquaman front row and red tornado protected. in the aquaman scenario, wasp and antman team attack red tornado with no stun back, and panther swings in to aquaman, trading stuns and 1 breakthrough. atom swings through direct. a: 42/jla:40
with zauriel, red tornado in the front and zauriel in the back. tornado is tam attacked, again by wasp and ant, for no stunback, less effects are added. panther then swings direct across zauriel who uses the magnificent 7 to power up and draw a card. panther may either accept the stunback or call down the lightning, which i feel would be a waste at this time. avengers lose 3, jla loses 4, then jla swings in with atom for 2 more. again, totals are a: 42 jla 40. jla rturns red tornado to hand instead of the k.o.
turn 4 brings wonder woman to the jla equipped with nth metal, backed by a 6/6 aquman due to no cards in opposing k.o. pile. avengers set an avengers mansion as a resource, then brings up the reservist carol danvers, replacing her with a black panther. then the avenger plays a walk through walls from hand moving warbird to the concealed area. placing 2 cards in the k.o. pile. wonder woman triggers and the jla player announces call down the lighting as the plot twist they may play. jla swings in with a team attack and powers up aquamna from hand with the 7 drop aquaman, removing both cards in the k.o. pile from the game, for a total damage of 18! the avengers swing back though with warbird and antman into wonder woman for no stunback thanks to wasp. wonder woman bounces and panther swings into aquaman for another 4 for 3 trade, then wasp in direct for 2 more, for a total of 10. a: 24 jla 30.
turn 5 avengers assemble for a monica rambeau, discarding an extra wasp, and set a pym laboratories as a resource. the jla player recruits a martian manhunter concealed. the avengers player plays a legendary battles, and an insect swarm on to monica rambeau, team attacking into martian manhunter while concealed, then uses monica rambeau to ready warbird. the martian bounces and antman and warbird team attack the aquaman, who also bounces with no stunback. panther and wasp swing in directly for another 11 due to battles, then monica is readied with a press the attack, and swings in for another 13 replacing the black panther from row with a call down the lightning. final totals:
avengers: 24 jla -2.
at least, this is how my avengers deck would do it with a mediocre to average draw. however with an insanely good jla draw and a craptacular avengers draw that could be totally different.
it seems like Avengers has so many plot twist to help the deck like legendary battles and heroes in reserve. Avengers Mansion seem to take care of your reservist as well.
JLA seems to have only watchtower as a cerebro/willworld type filtering and the power up can be done with various plot twist. If you include the normal pumps to the deck (flying kick) so does Avengers with a lot more to offer.
Wonder Man comes out and stuns Wonder Woman for free and savage beatsdown Hal Jordan for the win. Black Panther stuns Zatanna just to add insult to injury.
