I really...really hate to do this...but I cant take it anymore
Hydra and I agreed to a large trade back in *edit October...I sent first being the less rep guy...We said we would do Priority shipping....
I sent out priority with insurance (to protect myself) to canada...with a total cost of 23 bucks and change...the priority package arrives in canada the 26th of Oct...Hydra informs me that customs is charging him 100 bucks...he asks me to pay half (50 american), I didnt agree to that being that its his country and his rules...I did agree to pay up to 25 american dollars...but he would be responsible for the rest...he would not agree to this....
So instead of talking to the PO, he has done nothing after repeated attempts at contact...(before the trade we spoke daily)...then bamf...he is gone...All it would have took was for him to decline and they would have sent back...he did nothing and the 15 business days has expired and they are shipping back...
Canadian customs isnt my business or problem...I have proof he understands the nature of canadian customs (he claims to have been ripped before)
I contacted canada post and customs...the total he would pay was 70 canadian...which isnt close to 100 american (his orginal price) 70 candian is probably close to 50 american (which is what he wanted from me, calling it "HALF")...I offered what I found out to be half in the end...
So in the end I have wasted almost a months time and 23 dollars to be jerked around by an escrow and rep trader...
I have all the proof to back these statements up.....

As you well know I did call. I even called while we were talking on aim. I informed them that I would not be paying the brokerage fee and asked them to return to sender. I am not an employee of the Canadian P.O. and cannot influence the speed at which they do their work.

Wow, taking quite the initiative. But all for not. The price that was quoted was $97.54CAD. not 70CAD. and even if it were 70. Thats not the point Paying an additional 70CAD to complete is completely unacceptable. Especially considering the last time I payed for a brokerage fee thinking I had a bunch of savage beatdowns I ended up with a Hal Jordan and a Mogo.

I offered to pay for 1/2 of the shipping costs.
What it boils down to is that I wanted to ensure that I was protected. and because of it, Im being blasted. very nice.
I dont want to pay 100 in brokerage fees for a package that could have very well contained a roll of toilet paper, and Im the bad guy.

On the 14th of 15 business days, thanks...:disappoin

I wouldnt hound you for my "roll of TP" back...
Mr Holmes, you are a known ripper so STFU...I did send USPS, prioity to canada is 15 and change plus insurance costs...I am not one of those traders who claims things to get "lost" cause I pay for the little extras
oh yea... I forgot that i rip u too... remember when u trade me 4x Beatdown EA...
I just know that u made a big mistake and probably u gonna lose ur cards and some money like u say... and the best thing is that u know that Hydra did not recive ur cards... this is really interesting... Ure calling him riper and u know that he havent touch ur cards...
Well douche, let me explain...it says bad trader...not ripper..
I made a mistake by sending insured??? that pretty common in online trading
My cards did land in canada, hydra didnt recieve them because he didnt wanna pay customs...
You are basically a moron...you didnt read anything that I posted and have not contributed one meaningful idea...or wrote anything that is even understandable...
Quit being a tool and find something better to do...like go F*** yourself
I will give hydra some credit, this is not one of his "goons" or "boys"...so mr holmes only represents himself...and does a terrific job...
Ok, let me see if I understand this situation. Are you posting this thread because Hydra backed out of the trade after finding out it was going to cost him an unexpected $100? Or are you posting this thread because of the time it took him to act and get the PO to send those cards back to you?
Oh, and let us please be adult about this. We don't need any "kill yourself" or go "F**k yourself" comments. I'd hate to have to start dishing out Warnings.
Thats fine kamiza..I dont even know the guy...holmes just started popping off
I know you have traded with hydra, so I dont expect you to be partial...
But seriously, I dont know what other countries customs costs...broker fee's are...and I am sure most would agree that you should understand your own countries laws/fee's...second it wasnt unexpected...he complained of paying a customs fee before...setting a precident for his knowledge on the subject...third according to government official the fee he quoted me and the one they said are not the same...lastly my cards were left sitting in customs for what I find to be a lengthy time...(he claims to have called one day before they would have shipped back anyways)
If you want to discuss this with me I am not hard to find...I dont expect any support as he is the better known trader...I do expect fairness....and with 3 current bad trader threads...I dont feel outta line..
It has been returned....the point is that it sat in customs for a month almost...he at any time could have had them return it after not wanting to pay the fee...I asked him on multiple occasions to do so...
But after one months time the cards are still not in my hand
1) Hydra has no control over the speed at which customs deal with requests to return to sender. According to my local post office (whom I was chatting with while mailing Christmas gifts on Friday), at the moment US Customs is screening everything in a more intensive procedure than normal, resulting in slower processing times. This may have resulted in a delay in processing the return.
2) Duty is contestable. If Hydra had paid the duty, he could then contest having to pay the duty and (if he had a valid claim) would be reimbursed. I don't know if trading is cause for reimbursement, but gifts certainly are. Personally, I wish I'd known this when UPS dinged me $85 for a GPSr I won on eBay (there's not meant to be any duty on electronics), but I found out too late after the fact.
Regardless, I wouldn't pay $70 or $97.54 customs duty for a trade either - I can buy myself an entire box for that amount.
gdaybloke...atleast you are civil...I will try and explain, I dont expect people to side with the "noob" but I do expect you to respect my position...
1) he may not have any control over at which rate they send the items back...he had full control over his rate of contacting said agency
2) I have traded to canada many times in my history of trading...I marked it as a gift (which he did not request me to, but from previous trades to the country thats where my knowledge ended) Almost every other trader requested it that way...
3) If you didnt want to pay the customs duty, then dont request the trade...this was a 500+ dollar deal....it aint like we were trading commons....he came to me...I told him what I was doing every step of the way...he got burned in another deal, and took it out on me.....If someone sent me something (other than C.O.D.) and the american government had impossed a fine on it, I would just pay it and move on...I am the one who has spent cash...and been without cards for a month.....
If every canadian wants to roll in here and say americans cant use insurance to protect there packages, then what the use????
