Hans cheated? It's hard to believe. I hardly do.

He just invented his own game mechanic.

The UDE guys do it all the time and they're not cheating.

It seems like they were more making an example of him rather than making a fair ruling about his move. What better place to enforce a penalty for cheating than the Top 4 of the PC where everyone will hear about it? No one would even think of cheating after that.

this is why a mechanic like reservist isn't good for the game... makes it very easy to cheat like hans unsuccessfully attempted to do

but to the subject, it is very shocking that Hans cheated, I mean, why would a player of his calibur resort to cheating in the top 8 of PCLA???what could drive him to do this?

I dont think he was cheating...how it worked out it looked like he thought he could switch his call to arms with shape due to the whole chain thing...i cant honestly say i wouldnt think the same thing...but then again i would have called a judge....i dont think he was cheating...i think he just made an illegal play....plus he still gets his appeal

well the reasoning is pretty simple, he would've had a useless Shape in his hand, preventing him from using his no-hand tricks, whereas Answer the Call can be used any time. The question is, did he really think no one would notice that the 1 card in hand, that your opponent KNOWS is Shape, would suddenly turn into a PT?

Called a judge? Aren't there like 1-2 judges watching over every match already?

Cheating is such a harsh word, and it doesn't really describe what he did. What he did was more like... a brain cramp.

That's how I feel too. It doesn't make sense that he thought he could pull one over with a reporter, spectators, and alot of judges.

I don't think it was cheating as it was a misplay. If I were in that situation, I would've given a game loss. It might've been game 2, which might've been a match loss depending on the match status. However, a DQ for cheating with so many people, when it was probably caught right away just seems too unlikely.
