im new to the game and i was wondering why superman boxes were cheap (like 35 bucks) and a lot of the other sets are almost double. is the set bad or what is the deal. thanks
Spider-Man was the worst set for Marvel, Superman was the worst set for DC. Both sets had only 165 cards instead of the standard 220.
Spiderman only had 2 teams but one of the teams broke out really strong. Web of Spiderman also had some good generic PT that are still used today. Superman had 4 teams and nothing in that set came out to be useful anywhere.
They need MASSIVE legacy for the Man of Steel set to make up for those missing 55 cards. Sinister Syndicate is also still waiting for help too. I supose if your looking for boxes cheap i would get spiderman... at least that way you can have 1 strong team instead of 4 bad ones.
Hey Glorious Godfrey was In the PC wininng Deck...
Seriously though Supermans Team isnt that Bad now with the stuff he got from JLA (Superman,Look alike Squad, steel)
Of the rest of the Teams I think New Gods has the next best shot folowed ByRevenge Squad foloowed By Darkseid Elite (man this team isnt Very Good)
So my adivise a box of DSM and some JLA and try and put together a Superman deck. Or just buy a Box of Avengers and Make a Avengers or SqS deck (both of which are pretty much COmmons and Uncommons)

Why play Imperiex in stall when you can just run Onslaught or X though? They're infinitely better and can win the game the actual turn you play the,.)
my version of stall is gamma doom and after a gammabomb
to bring imp out on nine if my opponet is still alive i will concede
But look at Glorious Godfrey. You never know when a card might suddenly be useful. If you just want cheap cards, don't care about competition yet and wanna build some fun decks Spider-Man and Superman aren't the worst you could do. Spider-Friends is even pretty damn good. Just shy of Tier 1 at any given moment, really. Team Superman may get better with JLA but it's the best of a bad bunch,... Still it IS Superman so I'm sure it'll constantly be getting legacy. Just think about Sentinels pre-Web of Spiderman. They were Vomit or they were nothing. And then Curve ruled the world.
just having the explosive potential to clear the opponents board with only losing one character with team superman is enough for me to play them. TS has alot of things going for them, and with a small push can be where spider-freinds are at now. barely onthe cusp of tier one.
trhey needed massive legacy content, and IMO, they got it with JLA. GLC had a few trinkets, but the dual affiliations really allowed UDE to kill two birds with one stone, by getting legacy content and NOT having to worry about space for new stuff.
And to everyone who think DE sucks, well, okay, they did! But I think they will eventually be a big sleeper team. And Mantis is retarded good.

Heh I played that Common Enemy ACNV deck at the recent UK 10K. He brought out Onslaught on turn 9 and named Sentinels. In response I pumped Magneto to a 23/23 so he basically had to pass. Of course I couldn't touch him with his Coast City ACNV lock and just scooped on turn 10 but that's not the point. I do agree with you but Onslaught's not always the guy.
Im sure the guy was being sarcastic, but the main reason to play Onslaught is the extra stun damage helps problems with the time running out, as he can do 50+ damage in one turn compared to Imperiex's 26 (who also relies on having to chars to come out on 9).
Superman was pretty hyped well... but only for Sealed at the time. However, with each new set, brings the new Best Sealed enviornment. I'd love another Superman box for my playsets, and hopefully to finish off my set.
Everything between Origins and GLC is the null-zone, meaning nothing is good here. GLC brought on Very Good, Very Easy to Build decks. Avengers improved on that as well. I think the Jury is still out on JLA, but it seems to also follow that path.
