I need some help with a couple of questions and a little rule support to go with it
Okay well here is a another question...
Player A recruits Dr. Doom this turn.
Player B recruits Mr. Fantastic Stretch with a Personal Force Field and has She Hulk (unequipped) on the field.
Player A Plays Reign of Terror targeting She Hulk, Player B Responds by paying two and transferring Personal Force Field to She Hulk.
The question is does She-Hulk still bounce because she was a legal target when Reign on Terror was played or does Reign of Terror Fizzle out after the transfer of personal force field because she can not be the target of plot twists?
Another question is one that we need clarification on that happened last night. One half of us was saying yes it could happen and the other half was saying no but each side could see how this could work the other way as well.
So Player A has 2 face up Manhunter Soldiers in play.
Player B has Ubu (3 drop) and Ra's (4 drop) in play.
Player A declares an attack on Ubu and Player B accepts the attack. Player A then adds a Team Tactics
Card Text:
As an additional cost to play Team Tactics, exhaust a character you control.
Target attacker with the same team affiliation as the exhausted character gets +X ATK this attack, where X equals the ATK of the exhausted character.
to the attack. Player B chains Tower of Babel. Since you can't stop someone from paying the cost of card does Player A get the additional +5 attack for the exhausted Manhunter or is the attack bonus fizzled out?
Finally can someone please explain how a Bamf played during the recruit step before the 8 drop Ra's is played still allow the characters recruited that turn to get the effect bonus of Bamf and ditto for how the same scenario works (playing bamf in your recruit step) allows you to not be effected by Tower of Babel.
Just like Iron Fist stunned all the X-men, when they foolishly confronted the Living Weapon, Daniel Rand, the deadliest martial artist in the Marvel Universe. (See Iron Fist Issue 15 for this exciting episode)
The important thing for those first two questions, like Kariggi said, is that target legality is checked twice, first when an effect is played, and again when the effect is going to resolve.
For 3, you might be thinking of Legendary Battles. There is a rule which says that modifiers affecting qualities (a list of which can be found in the Comp. Rules) essentially "flag" the characters that they affect when first resolving. ATK is a quality from the Comp. Rules list, and Legendary Battles includes an ATK bonus; as a result, Legendary Battles flags the affected characters when it resolves. So whichever Avengers characters you control then, those are the characters that benefit from Legendary Battles this turn. Even if you got rid of their Avengers affiliation later, they would still get Legendary's benefit if they found a way to team attack.
Bamf includes no attack bonus, and so this rule does not apply to it. Bamf protects characters only while they have the X-Men affiliation, so Tower of Babel can neuter it.
Ok so it's Legendary Battles that I was thinking of. Ok so Personal Force Field and 5 drop Mr. Fantastic are an effective fizzle for the simple cost of two endurance. When facing down a Reign on Terror. Very Nice.
