My opponent is playing SqS rush, I'm playing Brave and The Bold (I'm a dinosaur, I know.).
Turn 4, My Initiative.
I have Utility Belt equipped to Spoiler<>Robin. I declare a team attack with Spoiler and Dove.
My opponent activates Golden Archer to his ability, in response to my declaration of attack.
Spoiler and Dove haven't exhausted yet.
Can I then exhaust Spoiler in response to negate his ability? If so, what happens with the team attack? I know that Spoiler would be removed, if this is even possible, but what happens with Dove?
I'm not even sure that I will have priority at that point to do anything, but both players have to pass on an empty chain for an attack to start.
You're perfectly allowed to exhaust Spoiler, since she's currently ready; your opponent has to pass priority to you before his own effect can resolve. If you decide to, then Spoiler's still going to be exhausted when the proposed attack's legality is checked---the team attack is illegal, so no one becomes an attacker or defender. It's the same principle as Dr. Doom Mystically Paralyzing one of your proposed team attackers.
End result---no endurance loss, Spoiler exhausted, Golden Archer exhausted, Dove ready.
So what if you're just attacking with one character?
Maybe even something like Quicksilver (3 Drop) against Pyro?
Pyro's in the support row, you declare Quicksilver attacking Pyro, they respond with pyro burning you for 3, can you use quicksilvers ability on the chain in response to pyros ability to burn them for 5 since he has no ready support row characters? If so thats something to try out...lol

This example, and the original one DO work that way, HOWEVER, keep in mind that these are unlikely circumstances.
Any smart opponent will wait until the attack is legal and your attackers exhaust before they do those things. At that point, your characters will not be able to use their powers.
