ok so on ebay i bought a case of the 2004 holiday tins and in one of the spiderman tins the foil it came with inside seemed to have been sealed in plastic with the card still sticking out causing the card to be cleanly cut at the bottom and ridges along the bottom from the machine that seals the plastic sleves. my question is a big error like this worth anything?
Generally, packaging errors are not worth anything because the card is basically destroyed. There may be a few people interested in the card, but most peolpe will not even want it.
The cards that have print errors are really only worth something to collectors who are into that type of thing. There are not too many of us out there, but at the same time, there are not too many print error cards. That is the reason these cards hold a little value.
From what I understand thats where the end of one foil roll starts and a new one begins. It often shows up on a card that has foil then a non foil middle then foil again on the bottom. Like StlthySandwich said these cards are worth something to people who like oddities. But dont expect alot for them, I happen to like oddities and will usually trade for them as long as you can provide a picture and arent expecting me to shell out alot. Most of the time i just replace the card. Get back to me if you would like to trade it.
