When I got back into the game, I wanted to build a deck that was popular for it's originality but not something that takes home every tournament. I didn't want the most played deck... I didn't want what others considered the strongest deck in the metagame. I just wanted something that took finesse to play but still held it's own.
So I chose Faces of Evil.
I chose Faces of Evil over Squadron Supreme, over GLock/GLee, over New School and AGL.
My friend Chris already had Common Enemy and Teen Titans built and another friend of mine had Avengers Reservist.
So, as I said before, and as I will say once more-
I chose Faces of Evil.
Now I'm wanting to enter the new metagame with Faces of Evil. And because I don't have the luxury of playtesting a lot, I mostly just read as much as I can about decks and tournament reports.
I've been hearing some people say that Faces of Evil is a contender for the new Golden Metagame and other s who say it will die to cards like Mutant Massacre and others. Etc.
Well, what do you all think? Is there some new tech in MXM to help push Faces of Evil above and Beyond? Are MoE and Thunderbolts going to find new allies with Brotherhood? Or the Morlocks? Or even X-Men for that matter?
Is Political Pressure a FoE squasher? Or is fitting it in against FoE a waste since FoE has no chance? What's up?
Faces is ok but i think there is a better build out now. It infuses much of the JLI for greater consistency (as well as taking on many of Adam Prosaks suggestions).
4 Sue Dibny
4 Yellowjacket
2 Paul Ebersol
1 Catherine Cobert
1 Radioactive Man
1 Gargantua
1 Nathan Garrett
1 Oberon
1 Ted Kord
4 Beetle
1 L-Ron
1 Booster Gold
1 Maxwell Lord
1 Melter
1 Melissa Gold (Screaming Mimi)
1 Poison Ivy (2)
1 Shocker
1 Fatality
4 Dr Light, Master of Holograms
4 Birthing Chamber
4 Kooey Kooey Kooey
4 JLI Task Force
4 Trial By Fire
4 Mega-Blast
4 The Wrecking Crew
4 Hard Sound Construct
The deck can cater for many different threats with KKK and can even play something like Flamethrower if youd like coz of Ted. Enjoy.
There are alot of very nasty 1-2 drops in this set. The morlocks are going to be a presence in Modern builds of FOE for sure. 5 ATK on a 2 Drop without pumps is just way to nice to pass up.
I could also see some type of Triple team-up with X-men, since one of their new themes is weenie rush. Finding a way to put 2 Drop Cyke from MOR into FOE and actually get some mileage out of him, now there's a nasty thought.
2 Drop Cyclops? I thought of something like that actually.
Uly - I don't really know what to say to that build, I have the generic version built and I just cannot see FoE or even any weenie rush without Ratcatcher...
The deck Uly posted is good. It's far more consistant and way more resilient than Faces could ever ask for. This is an example of its power:
Yellow Jacket Boost--->Sue Sibny--->Random 2 drop. That's with ONE card. Faces WISH it can produce that kind of advantage.
________ FFM VID
________ VERMONT MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES
are there ever problems with the resource row with this deck? with 8 locations and 4 ongoings the resource row looks pretty crowded those cards end up dead in hand.
otherwise that deck looks quite insane.

It has 8 Discard Outlets in Beetle and Birthing Chamber (assuming that it's running full speed).
Besides, there is no such thing as an extra Kooey. ;)
Great work. Do you feel that this deck is as aggressive and consistent as faces? I made a FoE that could easily kill on 4.
I used the empty hand strategy of SQS. Of course if I didn't hit my BC I ran out of cards to play.
t1 joystick
t2 beetle or yj
t3 no 3 drops except for speed demon so a 1 and 2
t4 usually songbird and human torch
My version was of course less consistent than the one you guys ran but it was faster.
I used savages, surprise attacks and of course fk and mb.
i think that was just a misunderstanding. i'm guessing he didn't know that the austrialians were the deck that developed alot of the faces (the predominate weenie) deck.
still a bit touchy though....
