"Holy Gotham Knights build Batman"...What's your favorite flavor?
I have had a GK deck since the day DC Origins came out. I have tried so many different builds and team ups. The only restriction I have is that it must have Batman as one of the primary drops. I don't even care which drop. I love playing the deck. I hate losing so much with it. No matter what combination of cards or how many rares I put in it, it just doesn't seem to win consistently.
My deck has been on the shelf for a little while now. Help me dust it off people. Tell me how your experiences have been with the Bat. What have you found that works. If you don't mind post a decklist too. It seems like GK have a lot of great tools and I just can't make it work. Maybe I'm retarded. I'm not looking for tier 1 here. Just something that I can play at my local hobby league and be competitive. We have some pretty fierce competition there with a lot of weenie rush these days.

It does indeed. That is actually how I have been forced to get my Batman fix lately. That and my JLAlly deck that uses the 6 drop. They are fun but I'm looking for more of a GK build. Not just another team that happens to have Batman in it as a dual affiliated. I have actually been toying with the idea of a GK/JLI 4 resource deck. It has a lot of control and beatdown mixed together.
There is a Child Lock with Big Bat at 7.
Looks like
4 Cosimc Radiation
4 Child
4 Alfred
4 Invisible Women
4 Mr. Fantastic
4 Bat Signal
4 GCPD HQ
4-5 Team-Ups
1 Batman, Dark Knight
Fill up the rest with GCPD Cops, Oracle maybe, Gordon, Tubs, Fizzles, PTA and BlindSided or Ant-Man(if room)
The basic idea is to lock the field with Alfred getting Child Named Valeria building a good bord stlling with cops. At 7 you drop Bats and with Cosmic Rads (either by Alfred or by Drawing them) you draw your deck to make Bats Big and swing away.
Alfred/Boris
Robot Sentry/Spoiler W/belt
Batman WGD/ Oracle (starter)
Dr Doom /NightWing
Lady Shiva/Destroyer
Batman JLA/Doom
Azreal
Superman
Its got Alot of Denial and and Tech for Almost any Occation. Not to mention with Doubles of Doom and batman the Power ups with AoJ should be easy. Not to Mention Lady Shiva + Mystical Per is sweet.

I have tried playing child lock in the past. It's a little too combo-ee for me. That and it usually bores me to tears. It can be very effective though.

I remember reading that article and seeing that deck. It is a very solid beatdown build. My only problem with that one is a personal one. Batman is only ever a backup drop.

I don't know why I've never built this deck before. I have played so many GK and Doom decks but I have never taken the time to build one. I have even played against them and thought it was a cool deck. I am going to take your advice and build it. It seems a little New Schoolish but I am sure it plays totally different.

Maybe that's my main problem. I keep wanting to build a GK deck with Batman as a primary drop. Batman is generally not the best choice given the alternatives. I just refuse to accept it though. Too much of a fanboy at heart.
the build im currently using for GK doesnt use any 2 drops. i just have cops at the position so i try to use alfred twice, once on 2 then drop him again on 2 to use on turn 3(that is if i get a cop on 2). after that i curve normally with creeper, cassandra, shiva, nightwing, azrael, superman. sadly the only batman i have is the 3 drop as a backup for combo decks.
I've played a My Beloved deck since DC Origins. It's decent enough.
Alfred - 1
Talia - 2
Batman - 3
Merlyn - 4
Lady Shiva (if you have even initiative) - 5
Bane (if you have odd) - 5
Ra's - 6
AzBats (if you have even) - 7
Lady Shiva (if you have odd) - 7
Superman - 8
It looks like loyalty is an issue, but I've often done well. Mulligan for either Alfred or Talia. Talia can do some great work finding locations, as they are the majority of non-characters in the deck (Mountain Stronghold, Metropolis, and so on).
This deck probably would have difficulty surviving a very fast metagame, however. I used it when games lasted longer (as of several months ago).
The motto of the deck is (after 3 drop Bats gets stunned), "Throw Batman in the Pit until Superman shows up."

Maybe you should try a GK/JLI team-up deck, with 4 Drop bats as your primary.
I played this for a while, and with his ability and Kooey's/reservist 5 Drops, it gets pretty sick. My drops went Alfred, Spoiler<>Wildcard, Creeper, Batman, Dinah. It worked out really well, with all the low resource pumps like Flying kick and Trial By Fire. You don't even really need to run team-ups, if you don't want to.
That's my take for a deck with Batman as Primary. Maybe we'll get a new Bats in the IC set. :)
I like the idea. I am wondering if you even need Alfred at all. I know it is sacrilege not to. I would think that you want some low JLI drops to hit a team up. It would give you Bwahahahah and Fizzle. Quite a bit of denial right there. Add in the aggro ftw.
