What's the worse mistake you've made during, before or before a game? Whether it's forgetting an activate power that could've won you a game to something odd.
Mine: The night before a 10k I made a quick 15 card change to add Fearsome Five to Gamma Doom, for Dr Light's boost on Turn 9 and played it at the 10k untested. I found out at the tourney that I had only one team up card and left four gamma bombs in there, still with mystical paralysis and reign of terror. .... it was a late night before. Needless to say, I got pwned that 10k.
well i alway forget to use some powers that could win me the game nad last hobby league I totally foget that doctor droid and captain america gives some defese to adjasent characters in cost me the win
Not a very serious topic but I'll throw in one of mine.
I once forgot to flip up Star of the Show playing as X-Statix an had 2 or 3 characters Hounded an KO'd
Lucky it didn't matter given the nature of the deck. I ended up winning the game.
Ok,here's a really old one. I was playing X-stall vs GK curve.(this is way back in MSM) I have the infinite Phoenix/avalon lock, but he still didn't scoop. He just kept drawing cards with his 7 drop Batman. Think it was turn 12 or 13. My ini. I replayed Phoenix and Rogue. His play was a cop,a cassandra Cain, and his batman again. Batgirl had a utlity belt equipped.
I had 2 good plays in front of me. I could've
1. Use Rogue to copy Phoenix's effect, and KO them both since he could only negate one.
or
2.Copy the Batgirl's utlity belt effect to negate itself.
But instead I've tried to attack the batgirl so rogue can ko without fear. Unfortunately with so many card draw along with bouncing all his character, gave him plenty of cards for her effect. That + plenty of fizzles to negate what pleasant distractions I had left, not to mention the still very big batman, needless to say I've scooped.
Originally posted by Mr. Zarbon I decided not to let the Wookie win. Needless to say, I'm now typing with my face, as my arms have been ripped off. Lesson: ALWAYS let the Wookie win.
Sunday I think it was, After playing a ton of games, I decide to try out a deck I wonder if we'll see in ATL. Faced with my full field against an opposing morlock build with 4 stunned characters, I plan to team attack, and then swing direct for the win, but somewhere along the way, I forget what I'm doing, and attack with a single character. Ouch.
My opponent had enough shrapnel blasts to survive the attack and make it in to the following turn, and I wound up losing the game.
Way back in Origins, My Boosted Azrael attacked my opponents FatBat. My opponent exhausted all his characters and reinforced bats. i stunned him anyway.
i forgot that Azrael ko's anyone he stuns if they have reinforcement.
Next turn, big blue came down and whipped me.
*sigh* i would have finished top for that season if i had won.
Mine would have to be in my first PCQ running mono Doom. I set a Reign of Terror accidentally, thinking I was setting a different card. Turn 4 came around, and I couldn't find my Reign of Terror. I still ended up winning though, because I had a Flame Trap against a board of B&B 1 and 2 drops and he had used up the 2 Fizzles he managed to draw on bluff Faces of Dooms.
My worst mistake was when I was using Child lock in a PCQ. My opponent is playing New School, and I have a Child in hand. He attacks some guy with Doom, and they both stun. Then he attacks with some other guys, and I forgot Doom was stunned so I didn't use Child that turn. I lose like two guys in recovery.
Next turn he plays Psimon and I can't do anything, but if I had my characters from last turn I would have burned him for the win.:ermm:
