To me, it doesnt seem like faces had to change at all if anything really. Could this new x-men hybrid be playable in ga, oir woild it be smashed by AGL?
I personally believe Dazzler, Rockstar and Cyclops, Slim and the other JLI stuff make this deck a major threat. I have playtested my X-Men/MoE/JLI build and it holds up well.
I've done a straight x-men/jli build and it works fantastic. From turn 2 on you recruit at least 2 characters a turn. If you combine
cyclops slim + blackbird blue + justice league task force (team-up) you can get massive damage on a direct team attack.
as for x-men/moe it's on my list of things to try but I see no reason why it wouldntr hold up well in ga. Paul ebersol protects from flame trap, if you do get flame trapped, ultimate sacrifice will recover your whole board anyway. As for agl, its a tough call but if you can get some direct attacks in you may be able to go pund for pound in damage.
Yeah, I believe so.
The X-Men changes are HUGE. Blackbird Blue/Amsterdam make a world of difference.
It wouldn't get smashed by AGL, though i think El Guapo will become the preferred reinforce guy since he can give everyone reinforcement on turn 3 and easier searchability. There's also Captain Boomarang for boucy goodness. Or a variety of characters that can target an exhaustion.
The main issue though is Glock. The current build has almost no shot against Glock. Roy/Arrow/Mit/Cover Fire, etc.
To counter Roy/Queen, stop playing 1 drops after they come out. Against AGL, you can always tech a Speedy since Beetle doesn't care. It's not like he's going to stay on the field for his off-team affiliation to matter anyways.

I see this deck getting nothing but better for the GA environment. The X-corp team-up search and the inclusion of Poison Ivy to the deck allows for a team-up search engine along with the already proven Dr. Light + Poison Ivy + Bettle engine. It's not unthinkable to see this deck hit for a huge amount of damage on turn 4 or 5 depending on initiative.
When we built XFaces, it certainly wasn't for the characters XMen had to offer or the additional teamups. We could've played teamwork and additional copies of Beetle 1 to get the teamups we did.
We played the deck because Mob Mentality makes Hawkeye the worst character possible, as opposed to the best character possible.
If you port the deck to Golden, Mob Mentality is likely to be key, using Brave New World to stop a variety of direct stuns in the GA format will be very good.
It seems like a decent option for the GA version would be to put in a couple of copies of District X and use Poison Ivy to get them for you. That way, you can drop the Angel, X-corp, Brave New World requirement and free up slots to put back in Birthing Chamber and a couple more Ebersols. Honestly, with Ebersol and Fatality, I wasn't having too many problems with out of combat stuns anymore in GA and good old Max Lord was fetching the team ups for me.
They are both good decks, but I really like having that Birthing Chamber online.

I'd be greatly interested if one of you guys wrote and article on your development, you did a great job and made an absolutely killer deck!
