I am finally getting into this series as I recently bought issues 3 through 17, they didn't have 1 & 2. I like the new team and the addition of Wolverine is kinda cool. Could they make Jessica Drew look any sexier? Poor Yelena Belova...

When did this group S.H.I.E.L.D get made? Was it the result of the House of M stuff? Since I didn't really read much of that, what happened and why did the original Avengers Disband?

Midway through the series they introduce this guy who is suppose to be some great superhero named Sentry. We're like on issue 17 and he's still sitting in his room saulking about his past. Is he every gonna get with the program?

Long story short:

Scarlet Witch went nuts, killed lots of Avengers. Destroyed the mansion. Dr Strange took her away. Tony couldn't afford to fund the Avengers.

Supervillain prison blew up. The cast who would become New Avengers all happen to be in the area and help out. Tony suddenly has enough money to fund New Avengers.

Then House of M happens.

Wow that's a lot of fundamental info your missing there.

Well shield has been around since the 40's. origionally they were created to fight Hydra. If you have never heard of Nick Fury....well that's to much for me to spell out. Goggle it or something if you want details.

Well to learn the fate and state of the Sentry check out his limited series that should be wrapping up next month.

The Avengers disbanded after the Scarlet Witch went crazy and decimated the line up by killing several members. Also the mansion was destroyed so they didn't have anywhere to hang out. That lead to the House of M buisness, which I hope is something you know about.

You'd be happy to know that I am trying to catch up on my Avengers history. I've spent some time on Wikipedia and I bought a copy of Avengers Disassemble. He has a full copy of House of M too. :)

Okay, so I got issue 18 this week and I'm glad to see that The Sentry has finally gotten with the program. He took that fire guy into outer space and is duking it out with him among the stars, but not before the fire dude (Michael?) caused some damage and blew Tony Stark's armor off of him. Of course it went back together and now Tony is preparing to fly into space. Kind of a weak issue but at least The Sentry is getting into it.

Yeah, so basically its all the powers that the Scarlet witch took all put into one lowly gas station attendant. I wonder how they will deal with this? Will they siphon off the power and put it into storage? Maybe we'll see all the Shield people being given these powers? Maybe they will just go away.
