Both charecters use Firestar as a name as opposed to an identity. Are both of these charecters the same person in the comic books? They don't look similar on the card art.
Yes, they're the same character, and at some point I hope we'll get a Firestar, Angelica Jones as Avengers legacy content in the future.
She was first introduced on the Amazing Spider-Friends cartoon, then came into comics as one of the students recruited by Emma Frost, and later was in the New Warriors with a telekinetic mutant named Justice; the two of them joined the Avengers together and, I believe, got engaged.
Generally, UDE's been pretty good about representing shared names and identities accurately.

Lies. Marcus Daniels <> Blackout, Darkbringer (MAV 135) is the SAME GUY as Blackout, Master of Darkness (MMK 139). It even says it in the lore. Yet you can have them in play at the same time!
It just makes me mad. Blackout is my favourite character in all of comicdom and they cocked him up. If it had been something like Captain America I could've forgiven, but not BLACKOUT. The lack of respect for major elements of comic canon just infuriates me. They are the SAME GUY. How hard is that to understand? Kids will get all excited about playing their favourite character and discover he is not accurately represented. It will turn them off the game!
Sorry, I just get so angry every time this subject is raised. I'm going to go cool off.
Blackout's the one example that I think was done badly, myself. But I don't mind so much that they made the cards into different characters---it helps represent the nuanced comic book flavor of them being two separate people.*
But seriously, the real mistake is that the MMK Blackout, a vampire who fought Ghost Rider, accidentally has flavor text referencing Marcus Daniels, the Avengers villain who belonged to the Masters of Evil.** Since Marcus Daniels was put into the MAV set, I'm glad they realized the earlier mistake and made Blackout only his identity. Otherwise, it would have led to a mechanics problem instead of just a flavor text glitch.
Then again, I think it would be pretty funny to petition for a flavor text Erratum. You'd be ground-breaking. :)
*People who watch Scrubs, say it with me---"Kelly Ripa!"
Heh, you looked it up? Fair play mate. I just spotted that one time while viewing the cards and was all pleased with myself for catching an error, despite knowing next to nothing about the comics ;)
On the subject of flavour text erratums though, in SWCCG they did actually exist. They had the bright idea when they released the game of emboldening text (like leader or scout) in the flavour text box so that cards could reference such traits. But then they went and mixed in words that were in titles too (like General Madine).
So you would have cards that said 'search your deck for an admiral, general or commander and put it into your hand.' So okay, you can fetch General Tagge or Admiral Ackbar, simple enough. However, cards like Obi-Wan Kenobi (only the first version) had 'famous General during the Clone Wars' in their flavour text box (not in bold either). So they had to issue a ruling that this one version of ObiWan was also a General.
Then cards like Admiral Motti, who had 'Commander of the Imperial Fleet' or something as his lore, had the farcical position of being both an Admiral and a Commander, even though clearly it was being used as a non-rank term in his flavour text. However, nobody could fairly distinguish this, so he got to be both. And don't get me started on Gold Leader...
Heh, 90's card games and their elementary errors. What a shame such an ingenious game engine was left to go down the pan.
If you put the SWCCG Gold Leader next to the MXM Storm...and you play the Wrecking Crew on one of them...no, that way lies madness.
But there have been some fun wordings recently. Tar Baby is an Adhesive Ally, just like Namor is an Ally of Doom. And Mr. Fantastic has a Leader version, but Dr. Doom is only a Lord of Latveria. (First time thinking about it, but I believe Mysterious Benefactor can technically search out that Mr. Fantastic 7-drop.)
I'm assuming there must be some sort of keyword-specific search card coming with it, since three of the four teams in MXM had search cards based on their thematic keywords, just like Mysterious Benefactor and Hero's Welcome did. Should we expect to see Batman, Vengeance splashed into Villains United decks, as an extra, searchable 4-drop?
Heh, the best part is, that search card wouldn't let you search out the 5-drop Vengeance. Irony makes me smile. :)
Mr Fantastic's version has already been changed to "Fantastic Leader" because of this.
I always got really confused by the Arkham Inmates Bane and the LOA Bane, until I found out that they are one and the same, and Bane was even supposed to wed Talia at some point.
Huh, I'd never noticed that touch-up to Mr. Fantastic---thanks for the correction.
Makes me wonder what's going to happen to Batman, Vengeance, though; they could errata his text so that he doesn't match the new keyword, but his power seems like a good example of it, anyway.
One thing that bothered me was being able to have Jean Grey and Dark Pheonix out at the same time. You could say they are different but they share one body.
