Other than Ted Kord and Shayera Thal, what kind of equipment search is available for Modern Age that isn't team-stamped??

Ape X, Beast.

Ape X and Black Panther are probably the two strongest, being free when the characters come into play, with no restrictions. Both are also pretty important to some strong decks in the Metagame right now. The 3-drop Beast is another, and possibly the only other.

Edit: Check that---in a more limited scope, any of the Construct search cards can find you a Light Armor or Chopping Block. And though you asked for non-stamped effects, Straight to the Grave's secondary search can find equipments. So can Marvel's Most Wanted, Kooey Kooey Kooey, and Kang Kong. Heh, and Doop can find Doop Cam.
