Don't get me wrong, there are some Gems in the set. But overall, the plot twist left me wanting a whole lot more. I think this set has the worst batch of plots of any set we have seen yet.
The plots that are good are pretty much team locked, or not as good as they first seem. Even the new Foiled! and Kaboom! type cards are team stamped... and they can't target Team-Ups.
I think this set has some insane characters, and some really good locations. Equipment got a real nice boost also. But the majority of plot twists are just blah.
There are amazing plot twists, and for once the defensive tricks outnumber the offensive tricks in the set.
A lot of the really power house plot twists are rares, and there *is* some serious amount of team-stamping going on, but that's not *too* bad.
There is one set of maybe 5-6 plot twists you must definitely be referring to. They are ongoing plot twists which do next to nothing when you play them, and their ongoing part is to pay 1 resource point to not do much of anything at all: those seemed a serious waste of space.
Other than that things are GOOD.
Here are some of my personal favourite plot twists:
- Arms Deal
- Return Fire
- Revitalize
- Defend Yourself
- Secret Six Victorious :-D
Removed from Continuty
2er Plot
As an additional cost to play Removed from Continuity exhaust a DC character you control. Remove target stunned non-Army Character from the game. You may discard a card. If you do, search that character's controller's deck, hand and KO pile for all cards with the same printed name and version as that character and remove them from the game, and that player shuffles his deck.
A Finishing Move (except for Army) that removes and can remove all other of this version as well. And not team stamped.
But mostly you are right. Way to many team stamped or identiy stamped plots. And worse than MMK plots for example. At least you could play them, but you had a worse Effekt. You may be able to play the plots well within the set, but most are useless outside of it.
But like he said, those are team-stamped. 1...2...3! Is only for locations, which isn't nearly as good as Ka-Boom/Foiled, even with it's versitility. Shadowpact got a Breaking Ground type PT, but that says non Team-Up as well. I just don't know if there is enough generic weenie hate in this set, and if that's the case, then the decks that were likely to be Silver Age decks to beat (AGL, SS, FoX, Glock) are going to remain that way.
