I am a bit annoyed that Checkmate does everything the League of Assassins needs. My combat League deck could've used these cards: A location that gives a pump for every location, a location search guy, a "locations pump me" girl, an alternate cost location guy, a plot twist negater location character card and my personal favorite: AN ATTACK PUMP PLOT TWIST THAT'S BOOSTED BY THE NUMBER OF LOCATIONS YOU EXHAUST!!!!
This set follows MXM where they follow-up on old themes but the newer teams do it better. Granted, I still think the League does a better job, but they could've used these cards. I don't like team-ups, so that's out of the question.
Anyway, I still think this set is the shiznit. Monster cards like Conjuration make me weep blood, but these young whippersnappers need to be taught a lesson.
HA-RUMPH ! When I started playing this game, you could get three packs for a nickel and a box of cards for a quarter ! And I had to walk 10 miles if I wanted to play a game ! Uphill both ways ! In the snow ! With nuthin' but barbed-wire wrapped around my feet . Kids these days, no respect I tell ya .

On a slightly more serious note, a CheckLeague deck is looking better and better. That deck would have so many freaking tutors it would be the nuts. I'm already working on a decklist for mine :).
Not really fond a team-ups. So going for a League of Mates deck is not my cup of tea.
It does seem like a very powerful premise. Every card in resource row is a location thanks to Ahmed, Kings that won't die due to Lazarus Pits, Merlyn sure to KO a 4 drop on your init, so many tutors that only Global Domination can negate, 7 ATK just on the 5th turn with Target Acquired. Whee!!!!!!!! I think I'd better lie down...
Aha! But there are plenty of team-up cards! That means that UDE is making an environment of conformity for team-ups in which players are resorting to nonconformity by not using them. Then in a way, I am conforming to the nonconforming masses, which makes me a nonconformist which is why I hate team-ups!
And the award for MVP team in a supporting role goes to......
Really this team takes a lot of the ideas of past teams and does many of them a bit better. But even on top of that, for some reason they don't feel like they have enough to pull it off on their own.
Reduced cost army recruiting? Better than Manhunters even, but not enough to pull it off.
Hidden attackers, and equipment boosts? They even have a new 'version' of Blade here... a 2 drop at 3/2, thats gets +1/+1 while equipped. But their equipment is superior to Marvel Knights, they have a location boost on top of that, she has NO recruit restrictions... and gives all Knihgt team attackers another +1 attack. And yet, this theme isn't quite fleshed out enough for the team to run it on it's own.
Locations to make the League weep. and location search. Location based tutors and pumps. But agian, I am not sure that it can stand on it's own, because for it to work you need to have a few Ongoing plots to protect yourself. That cuts into the location count.
The single visible character? Many of these abilities are insane for Hellfire type strategies. You can even make your lone visible guy do automatic stun-backs like Sinistro. But again, they don't have enough support to fully run this strategy themselves I think.
if i were to pick one, I would say their equipment strategy, and location tricks, woudl be their most solid solo combination. But there are MANY things that can ruin that, so it might also be the most fragile.
