So this might be a no brainer but LTC says that target character cannot be Ko's during the recovery phase this turn, so in turn would it mean that I would have to recover that stunned character during the recovery phase also, is this just meant to stop KO effects such as Annihilation Protocol and such?
you can still only recover 1 character, so you if you have 2 stunne characters and activate LTC on one, then it'll stay stunned instead of KO, and the other will recover.
Originally posted by sepharoth I don't think so. the way it is read it might as well say "burn for 5 and KO". if it had the little arrow then maybe.
Whenever Firestar becomes stunned, you may KO her and have target opponent lose 5 endurance.
You said it backwards, the card says you may ko her AND have target opponent lose 5. In this case the burn is actually optional if you ko her, but the koing isn't. It isn't a payment power because it's a triggered effect like vengance.
Edit: considering how mr.batow disagrees and he has had much more pro play than me he is prob right on this though. I just threw my 2 cents in though.
If you have an effect like Lazurus Pit to keep Firestar from being KO'd, whenever she becomes stunned, you trigger and choose to resolve her ability. If you resolve her ability, Firestar will remain in play stunned and the opponent will lose five endurance.

You're thinking of this wording:
Whenever XXX becomes stunned, you may KO it. If you do, do YYY.
With that wording, the character actually has to be KO'ed if you want the effect.
The Hellion guys are intentionally not worded this way so that you can pull tricks like the one with Laz pit.
