83 days and counting, not much news on..ouch! that tumbleweed ran right into me!
OK, so the game comes out in about 83 days if you go with the 11/21 date. Has anyone seen an ad ANYWHERE? Promos? Articles in any magazine beyond a 20 word blurb? Anything?
Also, we are nervously close to release date and still no word on DC. Without DC, the Marvel video game will be a cute novelty item to put on the shelf after a few months.
You will only be able to play as the Marvel characters, i'm pretty sure, and the nov. date is pretty damn accurate if not exact. Should be done in a few weeks. can't say where info comes from because of leagality issues, but this stuff has either been said somewhere else or just logical.
Yeah I wish that metagame might at least mention it in one of the columns or maybe a post on UDE. Oh well.
What I REALLY want to know is how hard they're working on getting DC involved. And what pricing structure they intend to use (online packs, monthly fee, etc).
I really think that if this does well it could change this game in a number of ways. Most importantly by expanding the player base overseas and domestically.

I haven't heard much of this game, but what do you mean by monthly fee? We have to pay to play the game online?
There is discussion of this in the other threads. Really, there are two methods for playing. Either you buy 'virtual' packs of cards and play with what you get out of those packs, through trading with others and tournament wins. Or you could pay a monthly fee and have access to ALL the cards available.
MtG:Online uses a pack-buy method where packs cost the same as real-life packs of cards.
In my opinion, this makes people who play with virtual cards feel short-changed to some degree. (I mean heck, I could at least wall-paper a room with all the crap commons I've collected.) Where 'virtual' cards don't have the same visceral quality.
Much the same way 'virtual' comics haven't taken off, card games can be limited.
By creating a monthly pay system, I think the companies will make more money (that's what they do ;)) and players will be able to play how they want. To me this is very similar to MMOs in that if you want to raid and play 24-7 then you can if not you do things how you want.
Sorry to pull the thread on a tangent. I'll go back to watching the tumbleweed.....:tired:

However right now we don't have 100% confirmation either method will be used.

Jeff Donais said something in another thread about Konami making all the money on pack sales.
Tell me something. If they are confident that the game will take off on its own without advertising or hype, then maybe they are just gonna release it and watch it grow?

they could have it set up where they "add-on" the new sets and it's an aditional fee... i just hope it's not a constant paying for pacs or monthly fee.

There is an article link I posted in another thread here that strongly implies you can buy packs/cards right away, but can also earn cards via playing others. IMHO, this is the best of both worlds considering all the options out there.

1. what's that thread?
2. that would be cool, but i don't like to pay for more cards
