Does anyone know anything about these?

I have some hopes that they will be a very solid local tournament with prize support.

They are planning on having four a year to coincide with the day that the newest set becomes tournament legal

The event will be hosted by premier stores

The Format will be Silver Age

I wish they had given a little more information on prize structure for the store championships. Basically I was wondering if the store championships will be like big Hobby League tournaments or mini-PCQ's. Hopefully we'll hear something about these soon.

...is that a store that hosts prereleases?

The guy in the interview called them premier stores and I have no idea what they are

its stores that host PCQs and Sneak Previews.

Which means that these Tournaments will NOT be held in every city, as was mentioned on Metagame.

And that friggin sucks

He said there would be more PCQs in smaller towns because now its only one format so its half the prize and product needed for the PCQs

So maybe some towns who havent gotten them will get them in 07

PCQs are ran by Premier TOs (Mike Guptil;PES, Alex Shvartsman;KingsGames). They should be reaching out to other stores and spreading out more, but they won't. I've have been sending Emails to PES for months now, trying to get PCQs or Sneak Previews in my local area for them. I have never gotten a response.

I really think UDE should make PCQs and Sneak Previews store level. Than every store has a chance to hold larger tournaments instead of just hobbie leagues.

The only problem I see with that is space, anyone who went to that Vista PCQ knows what I'm talking about. It is very difficult to play a card game outside, every card needs a wind counter. Without sufficient space these things can get ugly, and even shops that think they have the room can become quickly overwhelmed. Does anyone else remember playing across glass display cases from behind the counter because we were out of tables and chairs at Gems (shuffle & cut), and both those stores are set up to accomodate game play.

If the intention is to drive for higher attendance numbers, I can't see how they could push these mid-sized events into even smaller stores than those already hosting.
