i live down in New Zealand and was wondering your guys thoughts on wether or not MexHardware was still comptitive playing with out the flamethrowers? i have a PCQ in bout 12Hours so would really apreciate your help.........
if its a PCQ then it should be DC Modern. so the vast majority (if not the entirty) of the deck will be illegal. if you talking about the 10K, then i have no idea if the deck looses to much, i havent really kept up on it.
OZZ, if he is reffering to a Silver Age tourny, then MHG is in and MSM is out (which Flamethrower is a part of)
in silver age the deck should win against C/V decks everytime. Since you are attacking directly turn 1 to 3 they are to 20-30 by turn 3. Most of the time i played the deck i killed them tunr 4 or 5. The deck loses to V/X everytime unless you can tech against it.

Not true, the CM / VU match-up isn't as bad as you've described it.

It might beat Deep Green most of the time, but against a CVU deck that plays Ahmed visible with a Knight Armor on the third turn you will have some problems. Dr Psycho can also cause the deck some problems.
Mexican Hardware Store isnt gone, you just have to refocus the deck a bit more to compete. Flamethrower was important, but it wasnt essential. The deck will be able to thrive without it. It was a aggro deck with the attitude "why not play flamethrower," rather than a deck that needed Flamethrower.
Just to clarify, we're New Zealanders, and we tend to be rather flexible with formats here. For example, last week there was a GA PCQ in Wellington, whereas in Auckland we had a SA PCQ today. PCQs are usually few and far between.
