Absorbing Man reads:
-----
Whenever Absorbing Man stuns a character, put a +1 ATK / +1 DEF counter on Absorbing Man.
Remove a +1 ATK / +1 DEF counter from Absorbing Man >>> Gain 1 resource point. Spend this resource point only to pay the cost of a payment power. Use this power only once per turn and only during your recruit step.
-----
Now if I have a counter on him and this is my recruit step can I the resource point later? For say Bulldozer? during the Combat Phase?
Bulldozer reads:
-----
Reservist (You may recruit this card from your resource row. If you do, you may put a card from your hand face down into your resource row.)
Pay 1 resource point >>> Target character you control cannot be stunned while attacking this turn.
-----
If I choose to use Abosorbing Man's Power the resource point "floats" or is available all the way thru right? Till the end of turn correct?
2nd Part
I can also use Absorbing Man's Resource point for a Piledriver used from my hand correct?
Piledriver reads:
-----
Reservist
Discard Piledriver, pay 1 resource point >>> Whenever target character becomes stunned this turn, KO it. Use this power only if Piledriver is in your hand.
-----
Many Thanks...
Absorbing Man gives you the ability to pay for resource point payment powers even if you spent them all.... so if you wanted to play a 5 drop on turn five.. but you wanted Scorions, Fatal Sting's ability, remove the counter and you can pay that point that you received...
You lose all resource points after you pass priority to your opponent to build or the combat phase. (technically, you lose them during your formation step.)
You mean if I don't recruit anyone, and I am on turn 5, when the combat phase starts I loose all my 5 resource points? That would mean that all cards where you have to spend a resource point have to be done during your build phase which has gotta be false, this can't be, those cards would all suck.
404.2 During a player’s recruit step, that player may spend resource points to recruit characters and/or equipment, and/or to play effects that require resource points. A player cannot gain or pay resource points outside of his or her recruit step.
You're right...this is getting silly
But oh well guess we have to live with it (EX MTG Player :P)
I am telling you this game is funny, it's cool, but it's just funny
To use piledriver you have to spend the resource points during your recruit step, been playing that wrong all this time.
It seems a little silly at first... at least it did when I first found that out.
However, it all works out in the end. Plus, it gets you in the habit of playing strategically and planning out your moves ahead of time, which imHo, is ultimately beneficial.

Anything you pay for you keep.
If there was a card that said Pay 1 Resource Point--->Characters you control have reinforcement this turn. (and there might be, but I'm too lazy to look for it)
If you Paid the Point it's a continious effect even if he is stunned...
So the cards like Piledriver and Bulldozer and cards like that... you are planning ahead.. it sucks that the opponent can respond and KO it before the "Paid" effect KO's it... but... Let's just say it's a flotting effect for the turn it was paid. and will not resolve or cannot be negated unless negated by a PT or Character or Equipment at the time it was paid.
Well, sort of. You keep the modifier for as long as the effect states. However since most effects of this nature say "this turn", then you're mostly correct.

Marcus Daniels <> Blackout, Darkbringer (MAV-135C)
Character, 3, Masters of Evil, 4/5
Reservist, Concealed—Optional (You may have this character come into play in the hidden area.)
Pay 1 resource point >>> Masters of Evil characters with cost 4 or less you control have reinforcement this turn. Use this power only if Marcus Daniels is visible.

Yes.. well it would be kinda silly to have "this attack" as a modifier during the recruit step... lol... since you cannot have an attack during the recruit step (at least not yet... the closest thing we have now is Wally West 5 Drop.. but that's an Activated power.. not an attack)
But true... there could be a card in the future that would restrict it to during the combat phase.. or during the recovery phase... in which case it would last only during the said phase.
