I feel ######## for not figuring it out.....after the latest issue of 52 its like the name is on the tip of my tongue. From that conversation for some reason it makes me think that it's batman/bruce, but then it can't be because he's out in the desert getting cut up by freaky eye cult people. I don't know why but at least I think that its someone with no natural super powers, but what device could generate "supernova" powers?
I as well feel like a complete idiot for not figuring it out. After Ralph Dibny's conversation with Supernova when he says "I figured out the device that could do it," I agree with you that it might not be someone with powers.
My personal theory is that he's Rip Hunter, the time traveler Skeets is looking for. He has the technology to travel through time, so it's not a huge leap for him to come up with a device that could grant him superpowers.
I have some other questions regarding 52, however:
1. Does anyone know what the 'rain' is? It's mentioned in Rip Hunter's lab and on the cover of Week 29, where it says "39 days to the rain," putting it near New Year's Eve. Any thoughts?
2. any thoughts on the significance of '52' in the story? It appears frequently in the story, particularly in Rip hunter's lab, and appears one year later in comics such as Green Lantern and Justice Society of America. I am also at a complete loss for this one.

i dont know what comic ur talking about cuz i dont read to many comics but my first thought is maybe 52 has something to do with the fact that there are 52 weeks in a year. but thats just the first thing that popped into my head.
