Not only does it potentially net you an extra card each turn, helping to solve the largest problem in equip decks, but it's a better version of pier four!
Wow...I swear someone said there wouldn't be any bombs in this set....
Edit: The accompanying equip is solid enough too..
Just out of curiousity... has anyone gotten any sort of idea from UDE.. or has found the general price for this essentials set ? just curious as to how much i need to soak in to get a playable set of every card ;)

In the Inquest Gamer magazine, vol. 141, page 10, the article states the Hellboy Essential set is $30.
Stu mentioned the price in an earlier thread and I think it was in InQuest at one time:
$30

Thank you both..ill be buying quite a few of this set i do believe
Weapons Lab is solid, but it's really going to be dependent on how good the equipment for the BPRD is; a threshold of three keeps it from being really excellent in Fate-set decks, for example. I can see it being pretty wild in BRPD teamup decks, though. Imagine an Atlantean Trident and a Tricked-Out Sports Car on Black Panther on turn 3 - that's a 9/5 3-drop that gets +1/+1 every time he stuns a guy. Or two Universal Weapons on Admiral Galen Kor.
BPRD Signal Device is frankly better than Cloak of Nabu for any deck that was running Cloak as protection tech without the rest of the Fate-set. Excellent, excellent card.

Yes, if they were running it as a four-of. However, Ahmed wont be able to Search for Dr Fates Tower to setup the Signal Device.
This may seem like a stupid question, but I've never quite got the hang of it. What exactly defines an effect an opponent controls? Anyone who can shed some light on this would be being very helpful indeed.
Any effect in which an opponent controls the source, i.e.; plot twists from their hand or resource row, effect from a location in their resource row, effect from a character they control.
