Should we create a seperate forum for discussion of organized play? I'm thinking this will help with not making new players think the future is so bleak with all the complaining and pontificating that is going on around here.
This is a public "hand raise" style poll. Everyone will see how you voted.
I like the idea. However, I'm not a fan of this poll style.
It means some people won't vote for the "loser" at some given point and time because they don't want to be #####ed out, and, likewise, some people will vote for the majority just to be on that side. High school (or lower) level peer pressure FTW.

Please direct your whining to the new OP and other whining forum.:p
Why would we not want information about OP to show on the front page?
I don't care if it's an article at the top half of the page. I'm speaking directly of the newest threads that are shown at the bottom of the front page. And I don't know why "we" wouldn't them to show, but I know why "I" wouldn't want it to show and it's because every discussion about OP quickly degenerates into a pissing contest about who is owed more money, how long they've had to wait for it, how bad the latest VS set is and waaaaa! Frankly, I shouldn't be forced to see it. Much in the same way no one is forced to see the nonsense that is churned out in Another Realm.
I have to take exception to the idea of not showing threads in the proposed forum on the front page when they are updated. This is the case currently with the European OP/Support + forum in Dear UDE. It makes it harder for people to find out potentially very important information about upcoming events and OP in general, as some don't even know its there and for those who do its not easy to see when there is an update.
I would vote for this new forum IF the threads within it would show up on the front page in recent threads. The idea of this forum as I understand it is not to shunt all OP discussions off to the side so those who are tired of the complaints dont have to see them. It is to concentrate all the OP information in one place to make it easier to find what you are looking for regarding OP. This in itself should reduce the number of whining threads as people become more aware of what is happening.
UDE and Scott Gaeta in particular seem to have stepped up their communications and a new forum that highlights this information (and doesn't hide it away) seems ideal.
Except that the point of the new forum is that Fatal doesn't want new visitors to be discouraged from the negative OP threads that we keep seeing. If they are in their own forum, then when someone comes to this website for the first time and clicks a random thread on the front page to see what it's about, it's less likely they'll be reading about a bunch of people #####ing about how it's been 7.9 hours since their last update.
That just seems like sweeping the problem under the carpet, ignoring it and hoping it will go away.
A more proactive approach would be to offer up to date comprehensive information in one easy to find place that would answer most peoples questions and would quash at least some of the rumours that start up about OP. I assumed that was what was being suggested.

We have tried, in every way possible, to improve the constant negativity on these forums. If OP needs to stay off the front page like Another Realm to keep it from infecting the entire community, so be it.
I think it is fine on the front page, personally. But I understand the sentiment.
