Ever since I first started using OCTGN, I could only use sets that I get from the ultrapatch.
Legion isn't in the ultrapatch.
I always assumed that, in the OCTGN program folder <> db folder <> Largejpeg folder is where you put the game patch folder. in there the folders are named "number"XXX, where number is the name of the first image within that folder minus the last 3 digits.
I figured I could do the same thing for any further sets I download. However, when I attempted to do that for DLS, not only did DLS not show in OCTGN, but Crisis disapeared!
also, the other sets' .txt files were not with the largejpeg set folders as the instructions asked for them to be, so i do not know where to put the dls.txt file.
in short, where should files go in the octgn folder?
uh, if you're talking about adding new sets to OCTGN, then temp folder means just that.. a temporary folder you create somewhere completely unrelated to OCTGN. I usually use c:\temp
Then you point OCTGN there for importing the new cards, and then you delete the temp folder, because it's temp.
By messing around with the existing (non-temp) OCTGN folders, you're likely overwriting key files, hence why Crisis disappeared.
Basically after downloading a set into a temp folder or desktop, open OCTGN, go click on Game, highlight Database, then click "Load New Cards." Find the location of the set you downloaded and load the file labeled (i.e. VSMOR or VSDLS) into the system. A new file for the set will be made in OCTGN files so you don't need to move any of the files. Simply delete the 2 files that you downloaded since they are no longer needed. Hope it makes sense, if it doesn't I'll try to reword it.
