As we all anxiously await the surprisingly MIA VS OP announcement promised by Scott to be posted today, I wonder what would your reaction be if that announcement did not come?
If there was no post on metagame today, would it make you less likely to buy a pack of vs tomorrow?
What if UDE apologized and announced that the OP schedule had once again been delayed untill tomorrow? What about delayed untill next week? Or even next month?
Personally, I am nearing the end of my patience. I think failure to deliver on another deadline would be the last straw for me.
So feel free to voice your opinion as we are now 13 and a half hours into monday here in the midwest, and UDE has yet to speak.
UDE has until 5 P.M. Cali time (which is until 8 P.M. East coast) to get it out effectively. They may wait until Midnight, I guess, but that wouldn't make any sense unless they were all staying late working on it (which is a possibility).
I imagine that they'll take as much time as they can for it. This one announcement isn't the only thing they're working on, and they need to tell the truth while not opening themselves up to critics who will tear apart every single word of the message (not that anyone around here would do that).
If they don't get it up today, it will make me as dissappointed as it did when they said one day they wouldn't ban any cards and the next day they banned 5. I wouldn't quit VS over it, but I don't know if I'd be as committed as I am to try to make it to PCIndy if they were to miss their own deadline and put it off for a week or more.

I wouldn't buy a pack tomorrow, but I would still buy my box or two of Marvel Teamup and Hellboy when they show. Though I may not adopt wholeheartedly to the Stu philosophy of gaming, I didn't sign up for VS because of the OP, that was just a bonus. An actually playable superhero card game ftw.
I don't play this game solely for the OP so I put no time frame on the announcement. As the parent of two small children (4 and 8) I can't allow myself to run out of patience, so I will conmtinue to wait even if I wait until they close the doors.
Well, when I said "buy a pack tomorrow" I ment in the abstract. Personally, I enjoy VS OP infinitely more then casual. Not necesarily for the money, but for the competion. I would rather the trophy than the check, but the check is nice.
Either way, its the follow-through I'm looking for from ude, if the announcement is promised, and then isn't delivered, thats alittle more than I'm willing to look the other way on.
But again, I want to here how a delay or lack of an announcement would effect others.
I'm going to have to sign on with the "The Announcement doesn't really matter to me" side.
The Announcement doesn't really matter to me. I don't play for OP, I play for the game itself.
That being said, it would be NICE if they could get it out today, just because I know there are people waiting on it.

I'm more curious than anxious. Aside from possible PCQ or Sneak Preview changes, not much is going to change for me. That is, unless they announce Pro Circuit Austin. Then I'm going to cry, because I'm not good enough to get 9 more points.
what i never understood is that, why we are all having to ##### and complain for someting as simple as a tournament schedual. This seems like an auto matic thing that should be updated consistantly and planned well in advance, and not a second thought put into it.
instead its been a few months of wondering where our game is going, i shoudnt have to wonder, this is basic stuff. We shouldnt have be hovering around here and metagame like vultures just to learn when our next tournaments will be.

The most important thing for OP is a strong tournament schedule. The lack of one gives the impression that it's no longer crucial, which is very bad for those who enjoy the strong OP this game had previously enjoyed.

Well I imagine they did have everything solidified, and then things changed. People cried out for changes to be made. Then the whole GenCon thing. Then changes in management. Then people crying out for more changes.
They had some catching up to do, and I imagine the announcement we get will make up for it. UDE takes care of us. They've given us an amazing game to play for the past couple years, and they've given us places to play it, and even more reasons to play it(as if we needed more).
I'll admit that I was not initially interested in this news, but after the build-up surrounding it I really can't wait to see what the update is all about.
I never have, never do and probably never will be interested in comics. As such I play this game for the amazing game play and competition. If that crumbles I don't see myself continuing to play this game despite how much I love it.
Eh, I'm kind of turned off of UDE right now because of their behavior. It's even causing me to doubt wether I want to play any of their games, not just VS. In the meantime, I'll play warcraft (the online game) with my friends.
