The deck maker on OCTGN confuses me and since MTU is not on VSed how in the world do you make OCTGN deck maker work.
The way I made it work, is to just keep hitting the "Search" button and typing in the card you want. You just have to remember how many of each card you put in because the In Deck Editor doesn't tell you. Once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad. It's a bit annoying, but otherwise, not horrible.

It's actually not as bad as I used to think it was, but VSed is much better. However when life gives you lemons...
First go to your deck editor and create a new deck. Then click search. To find characters you first uncheck Name in the [In Fields] box to the right of the search prompt and then check Subtype. Enter the name of the team you are looking for.
After that go straight to the box to the middle right titled (with colorless mana) and select = in the right drop down box, and in the right one click the level of the character you are looking for. Do that instead of using the affiliation picker at the bottom of the search menu. Trust me.
For find PTs select clear all selected items. Uncheck Name in the In Fields box again and select text, then in the text bar choose the name of the affiliation you're looking for PTs for. Then select in the bottom left box PTs, Locations, and Equips (or whichever you are looking for).
This also works for finding locations or PTs or even equips that do certain effects like recover, KO, etc.
As pointed out above, pretty straightforward. Just use search, and you can find all the cards you need right there for the deck editor.
A couple things to keep in mind...
1. Always use the Uncheck button (right at the top of the bottom section) after each search to clear your previous search options.
COSTS
2. The black/colorless mana cost (to the middle right) is the cost of the card you want. You can choose to search for card equal to that cost, greater than, or lesser than.
TEAMS
3. Click the first team in the list and click it again to unselect it. Then hit the first letter of the team you want on your keyboard. It takes you right there and at most, you have to click down a couple times.
4. Or type in the team name for the search field, then make sure you click all the search box checks (name, text, etc).
CARD TYPE
5. Very simple, there is a box to the left side, middle, with all the card types. Click on one.
ATTACK/DEFENSE
6. Bottom left, just click on the attack and/or defense and select the box next to it for equal to, greater than, or lesser than.
DECKS
7. If you've got more than a couple decks, I recommend that you transfer decks out and name the transfer file (and then clear the decks out of the deck manager that you aren't using). It's very simple to transfer decks in and out of here. Or, have a text file that you can easily access that says what the name of each deck entry is, because all it names them, at least for me, is untitled #.
8. You can also clone decks if you want to modify a version and leave the original alone. Right click the deck, hit clone.
