Alright, so according to the UDE website, players who participate in a city championship and have a rating of 2650 or better by July are qualified to attend PC Indy. My question is, what about players who don't attend a city championship? I live in Hawaii and right now as it stands, it doesn't look like we'll be having one this go around. My rating right now is 2809 and I have 41 PC points, but am I going to be unable to attend simply because I didn't get to play in a city championship? If anyone has any info regarding qualifying for Indy it would be much appreciated, thanks.
I can't find the info on the ude website, whats the deal with it? If you just play in any city championship you need a 2650 rating, but if you don't you need a 2750 one?

BlackChaos, you will probably get an invite based on your rating as is. I hope hey dont MAKE you spend the PC points. Because that looks like a solid buffer for PCs over the next few years. Im hoping so because Im in a similar boat. Id rather use an invite than PC points anyday.

since theyre definately going to keep having pcs for several years...if the loss of pcqs, 10ks, and scholarship circuits is any indication (plus the CANCELLING of 50ks before they started) UDE is not enjoying spending much money on this game. The lower purse for indy tells me that they are slowly just taking money out of the picture...and who would go to a pc that didn't have money?
Look at the people who travel, I hear it's mostly kids with parents who are willing to buy tickets. The Vs following is made up of older people who have jobs and other things that keep them from traveling in the first place. No money just makes it worst. Also Yu Gi Oh has a stronger following with Shonen Jumps having 500+, Vs never got that big.

Not really. The ones that travel are 18-22. It's popular because it's an easy game to pick up, and happens a lot. There's one, this week actually after only 2 weeks.

You need to get yourself a job that has vacation time.
I personally think that UDE should do the PC's in the following locations(4 a year):
PC (West Coast Location)
PC (Central Location)
PC (East Location)
PC (Overseas Somewhere)
This way for people who love the game don't have to buy freaking plane tickets to go play cards at the big events. I love VS and consider myself a decent player but I will not buy a plane ticket or drive 15 Hours to go play at a PC. The closest one they have ever had to my location was Atlanta, GA(I live in NC). At the time though I had not gotten into Vs competitively enough to qualify for a PC. Now I have 19 Points and would love to spend them but I have no close PC in the near future to do so:p.
