You know what I am talking about people. The most wrongfully banned card in the history of this game, and no I don't mean ARB.

OVERLOAD!

The time has come I think. Especially with the new wave of formats, and Random Punks, bring back Overload. If we don't we will just see the a huge amount of AGL, Avengers, Squad, blah... blah..... When will the swarm dominant format change?

There are many reasons the card needs to come back, but this is just one of them. We have an entire team strategy that says if they have lower attack than defense they can't stun, and we also have many MANY cards that stop an attacker from stunning. So really we need this card, a common, back to keep rampant oversized decks in check and give some of the curves a change to be competitive again.

Also, we coudl see many cards (or an overall rule) stating that you can only target attackers you control with attack pumps. That woudl keep a lot of this in check also, but I really don't even see it as neccessary.

So come on people..... let's have back some counter tech.

It already came back in a non-broken form. It became system failure.

I have heard this is the only card that in banned in the single set 10k

If that's true, then GLock could rise from the ashes. There's not much legacy content in that deck.

Quit it. Overload was way too good. You think "big attack" is running rampant? At least it's 20 different decks. Oh and control is still just as prevalent. You know what happens when you unban overload? Whatever deck uses Overload best is going to be 50% of every field you face.

You can try and deny it, but if you do you are A, wrong and B, stupid or purely in denial.

Oh and guess what. 20-30 percent of the rest of the field will still just be Quickfate cause uh... Hey, you can't Overload Dr. Fate. If you think Overload is what's needed... Run System Failure. It actually is a very strong card. Which is so sad, because people #### all over it just because Overload was BETTER. It's like as if Beatdown used to give +14 and then everyone got pissed because it JUST gave +5 now.

I want Dr. Light back. They pretty much fixed all the game winning combo's. He just has really good combos now.

IMO these bannings helps keep the game fresh.

I think they should ban more cards.

And before anyone says, "You probably didn't play any of the banned cards anyway..." I ran Glock for the longest time and the deck sorely misses DR. Light.

But I am ok with his banning if it stops degenerate decks.

Wait... What does overload do to Avengers, AGL, Squad, or any of those random decks you mentioned? Tell me more about these Rampant, oversized decks. How can you demand a format become fixed before it is actually played?

(Also, Counter-Tech would be something that is tech against OTHER forms of tech...)


Just because they CAN fix a broken interaction, doesnt mean they will. Fiddler could have been erratad to say :
'Return target character card from your KO'd pile not named fiddler to your hand.'

But do I suggest fiddler comes back? Hells no. I'm sure go down fighting can be neutered... the same is true, It is fine as is banned.

I gotta' agree with Ranamsolo. I think that bringing it back would be very, VERY bad for the game. First of all, people would build decks that were based around that card one way or the other, wether it was using it or teching against it. And when one card or combo dictates the flow of the metagame, that is when we have a degenerate gamestate.

Scary amounts...as much as they are fun to play with...they make the game less fun to play...if you are playing against a checkmate deck...it just saps the fun out of the game...they are TOO good...i really have loathing for the team...when i play the game against checkmate i just want to conced to get the game over...playing against them is SOO boring...

Just wanted to comment on the idea that with Dr. Light unbanned GLOCK would dominate the BYOS 10k. No. No it wouldn't your just being a silly goose. GLOCK loses 7-drop Guy and Mogo, Professor X, and any of the random guys(1-drop Roys etc.) for Dr. Light to bring back and it loses a little something else called COVERFIRE FTW. GLOCK didn't even dominate DC Modern Age GLEE did.

But in regards to the thread I think the banned list should at least be lifted for the BYOS 10k. Nothing is really that broken in its own set. If the list was lifted for that format Dr.Light and GLEE couldn't totally dominate because CE would pack Overload. Frankie and Valeria might still draw some cards but what are they drawing to in MHG.
