So, last month I ran the first ever hobby league tournies at our local store, including a CC, and everything went pretty well. My store owner got enough out of it that he's ordered the kit for next month, although we haven't gotten it in yet.
And yet...
...he just sent me the solicitation that he got from UDE when the kit was made available to order, and it confused the heck out of me.
"The kit supports one Random Punks event (for up to 25 players) and 4 weekly tournament events, all of which are supposed to be run between April 27th and May 13th."
Ok, so, April 27th is today. Kit's not in. And, y'know, fine. But I think it's really strange that we're given support for '4 weekly tournament events'...and we have 3 weeks in which to hold them.
What gives? Why the wierd dates on the 'season'?
I honestly don't know if it matters, either, since I don't see why they would care if I were bold enough to run a Random Punks tournament after May 13th if I wanted to. Seems that I have the prizes, and there's no pre-sanctioned tournament that needs to be run like the CCs last month (as far as I know).
Any store owners with more info? Or anyone, for that matter?

This is correct. Then next month the same deal... with the Spiderman "season". I am not sure of the dates, but it seems the World's Finest City Championships would happen the week after that and that is the only one that needs to be sanctioned if the winner wants the face on the card. Of course you could sanction twice a week if your players are working on ratings.
Either way, there is no actual "deadline" for Random Punks tournaments to be held.
The Random Punks Hobby League Kit has been delayed.
Hobby League has been changed for VS, you still get the weekly EA support but now you have additional cards to run one Marquee event per month. Last month's was the City Championship, this month's is Random Punks and next month's will be Spider-Man.
The actual dates are weird but I think that has more to do with set timing than anything.
