Bere with me, I'm born-again noob to this game (haven't played since the release of Web of Spider-Man). The Nintendo DS game has brought me back. I picked up two boxes of Avengers boosters and I'd like to put together a Squadron Supreme deck. I'm not looking to play in tournaments, just something to have fun with.
That being said, from what I can see by looking at the cards having a small hand or no hand will set them off. What is the best approach to using them? using 1 cost plot twists and 0 cost equipment cards? Once again I'm new, so any help is greatly appreciated.
The standard Squad Build uses a short curve to Five, dropping Albert Gaines on that turn...not sure of the numbers exactly but squad was pretty heavy in the local meta for awhile.
Here's the cards you need.
(or at least come highly reccomended)
Ape X, Xina
Joystick, Janice Yanizesh
Shape, Malleable Mutant
Lady Lark, Linda Lewis
Golden Archer, Wyatt MacDonald
Albert Gaines<>Nuke, Atomic Powerhouse
A full Fate suit (not four of each but enough to grab them consistently)
Flamethrower
Panacea Potion
Answer the Call
Other Earth
Rocket Central
I'm guessing that you don't have access to the fate cards, so I'd recommend replacing them with thunder jets, other equipment, and low cost plot twists.
Characters with Reservist always help. Characters can be pretty difficult to get rid of at times so, if you can stick them in your resource row they can be brought into play when you need them and by keeping the plot twists in your hand they can be disposed of very easily.
There is another type of deck you can attempt with Squadron Supreme and this is based around "alternative breakthrough". This means rather than cause breakthrough while attacking characters will have other abilities instead and you do not need to worry about discarding your hand. Im not too sure about a decklist for this deck type, but maybe someone else can help further. It could be worth a look.
