a bunch of people jumped aceswolf for trying to squelch top decks

slim1256 said he got similarly squashed by another deck with Multiple Man and Senator Kelly that was too good

tommy ashton was like if stu would have done that it would be his crowning achievement and instead there are calls for banning

Is Kole/Evasion/Burn too good?

Is Little Red Men too good?

Is it possible to be too good in a Random Punk Hobby League format?

This thread became really good when that classless Prozak joined in and began thrashing Aces. It was quite amusing to see someone, who claims to teach, go off upon someone about their grammer, punctuation, and spelling... only to butcher it himself later in the thread.

I dropped out of high school, i never claimed to be great at the whole "proper American-style english," but even I knew that he was wrong in doing it.

And they did completely nuke that thread, for I was trying to find the post showtime! placed on the thread last, and there is no trace of the thread ever being around.

I think UDE's idea of a sweet HL prize with a unique format had good intentions, but due to the new 'untested' format and R&D not ever intending to have a common/uncommon format and as such never tested out "broken" decks led to top deck builders capitalizing on the lack of weenie and location hate.

Is either deck too good - no, neither deck is too good as they would normally be squashed in Goldgen Age, just unfortunate they ran rampant in HL.

Is either deck too good for HL - no, any viable and legal deck should be fine by anyone, especially in light of the sweet prizes (and for anyone saying you are material for playing for prizes only, there are a great # of people without 4 mobilizes, so let them play what they want if they need them). I saw the "little red men" deck in action that Slim1256 was talking about and I thought, wow, that would suck to play against it, but wow, that's an awesome deck, why didn't I think of that. If people want to whine, fine, this is the USA, and is their right.

Is Random Punks an unwanted red-headed step-child - yes, as I said earlier, good thoughts with good intentions, but the end result is Aceswolf getting upset, everyone jumping him and getting upset, and Ramsolo just chilling. This format should be squashed for any future HL events.

Will the same thing happen for the Alter Ego events - probably, but hopefully people will chill the f out and deal with it.

Are the people that blasted R&D morons - yes, R&D never tested it because when they created the cards they didn't intend for them to work in this environment.
