I made this deck the other day after being a little dis-enchanted with straight avengers. mostly uses replacing to search through the deck, i hit drops consistently.
4x Beast
4x Kleinstock Brothers
4x Rem-ram
4x amelia voigt
2x dane whitman
2x natasha romanoff
4x senyaka
4x black panther
2x carol danvers
2x spoor
2x anne-marie cortez
4x scanner
2x polaris
3x wonder man
2x hercules
4x call down the lightning
4x air strike
4x boot to the head
4x planet x
I'm thinking about trimming the curve at 5, maybe taking polaris out altogether and adding in more plot twists.
You don't play Avenger Mansion, Rick Jones and Namor. You don't Like She hulk in drop 5? It's necessary to play 4 Carol. If you want, you can play Ank Pym.
No QuickSilver at 3. With 2 of the 3 best team attackers BlackWidow and Warbird (QS being the 3rd) you need Legendary Battles. Rick Jones She Hulk...00ps Might as well build another Avenger deck.
QS for BP at 3 and need something at 5. She Hulk maybe.
Honestly, although it has team attackers in it, Natasha and carol most specifically, its not a team attack deck. I ran straight avengers in reserve at a PCQ once, and found that is far to difficult to win with a team attack deck, you get people bounced, exaushted, cced in any manner of ways and you are basically screwed. same with the whole QS legendary battles combo, its cool if it works; but, it hardly ever happens like you would envision. I have the team attackers in there for utility, natasha to stun annoying hidden characters if i need to, and carol if i need to get rid of someone in the visible area. and black panther coming out a 7/6 in the hidden area has never let down. also, i use planet x moslty as a +2 attack boost, and a way to cycle through my deck, and team up only if i need to team attack. avengers mansion is a possibility, although im not sure i would want to stick a resource like that, especially with wonder man doing such a good job on their 4 drops.
and also, scanner is way better than any of the avengers 5 drops, she is hidden, better base stats, and her effect is really kick ###, usually i will have 2 or more cards to replace resources, so i can stack the top 4 cards with plot twists and chain out 4 of them in the combat phase. way better than she hulks effect.
I have no problem hitting my drops and getting a few team attacks with 3 above. I see what your saying. Black Panther is great if you miss your four or even 5 drop because of the counters. So if team attacking is not your goal then BP all the away
Dont like Scanner(I am AV RES BIAS I admit it). I would still pu She Hulh in there for Polaris. That 5 endurance she can save you could be the difference.
Boot to the Head Rocks. If you are trying to 5 reservice face down for Wonder man you might think about Acolytes or Heros in Reserve
I never gave the acolytes much though, but that would actually be better than heroes in reserve, with all the resource swapping i end up with only half of my row as reservists by 5, so acolytes would be a much better combat boost. I was originally running flying kick and heroes, but replaced them with air strike and boot to the head respectively, so that i could cycle through more of my deck. My thinking in putting polaris in over she hulk, is this -- she hulk may save you 5 endurance, but say it is someone kill turn, and they have initiave, cheating them flight, would end up saving alot more endurance, they will be hard pressed to find a way to cause much breakthrough with no flight.
I posted a Scanner reply on the Playroom thread. But wanted to add it to your Reservist thread. Scanner Rocks. I always used scanner to pull Char up. Now I will use Scanner to pull plots up and do the replace resv thing to load up plot twist for kill.
I was working on a Avengers/Future Foes Reservist deck for a long time, but now that Avengers is Golden, I've given up.
It was hot because you had the power of Avengers with cards like Time Trapper, Glorith, Computo, and Mordru for drops (Trapper ROCKS in Silver). You also get to play some of the 'constriction' plot twists for a hand control feel on top of the big beats. Engine of Change, Chain Lightning, Altered History, and even Five Against One are great in the matchup. Even Fatal Five Hundred did it's job pretty well. Granted you need a team-up and the more non-chars you put in, the less powerful the deck becomes, but I feel pretty strongly about Time Trapper in the deck, and Mordru is a great alternate 6 when you don't have anything to stun since he can eat a combo piece or even a character.
