Anyway, City champs, this saturday, spread the word, and then BE THERE! Might even be able to talk the store owner into throwing in some extra prize support if we can get enough people in the door.
If this weekend isn't the best for you, we do have a second kit, so we will likely be running a second tournament sometime early next month.
This will be a sanctioned tournament with a 30 C value.
Bring your best game and your friends. It's going to be a hell of a day! Everyone wants that Joker Mat and EA BGYTs!
Hope to see anyone who isn't too far away there having a blast with your last chance to play no hand squad, and Avengers reservist in silver age.
metagame breakdown,
7 players
silver bullet X 2
Morlocks X 1
TT/Outsiders X 1
BoP/GK X 1
Infinity Guantlet X 1
Hellfire Club X 1
The field was decently varied. The Gauntlet player was a guy who used to play back in the Green Lantern days. The Batman deck was also from an old player, who was getting back into the game. The 2 quickie decks were from seasoned pro's, one of which was just coming back from his day 2 proformance at PC indy.
Biggest suprise of the day has to be Morlocks, I don't think anyone saw that deck choice coming, and it swept through the field like crazy rocking to an undefeated finish after 4 rounds of swiss, and a top 8 stairing down the barrel of the silver bullet.
If you want to rock it at CC and are tired of Quick wrecking face, I highly recommend Morlocks.
Also, the Silver Bullet decks sqaured off in the midst of the swiss rounds, in a match that almost went to time. All in all, everyone had a pretty good day, and we're looking forward to doing it again on saturday september 8th.
