I have read that there will be a announcement made regarding OP for VS in September in this forum, but my question is was an announcement made officially saying this or was it just something someone overheard at Indy?

I don't think this was an official Indy announcement. I think various reliable sources have reported that by the end of September, UDE would "know the score" and make an announcement soon after.

If they had announced the announcement then that would have been the announcement and we'd have to wait another 3 months before some horribly worded press release sent us all scrambling for torches and pitchforks.

Well you didn't hear that. You read it on these specific forums. I don't think anyone actually knows one way or the other.

If the OP announcement involves a date with Zonos as part of the 1st place PC prize, I quit.

And that likely includes UDE, who may not even know after they make the announcement.

Regionals and Nationals is fine with me and I think it has the Opportunity to help the game grow. This would only work if they did it world wide. Just my 2 cents.
