Oh! You’re a loaded gun, yeah
Oh! There’s nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done
SHOT THROUGH THE HEART AND YOU’RE TOO LATE
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
I love that song, but nowhere as near as much as I love this card. The lyrics, however, do a really good job of summing up this amazing plot-twist that we’ve got exclusively here on VSREALMS.COM.
The Flash has been patiently waiting in the wings for his time in the spotlight and I think that DC Legends will the speedster’s moment of glory.
Let’s look at the card itself. A three-cost plot-twist that allows a direct attack – holy cow! Do I really need to go over how great that ability is? You can attack someone directly, regardless of their board. Direct. To the face. No reinforcement. No protection. To the face. Hard. Directly. The character has to have the identity (that’s the bit after the <>’s if you’re not too sure) The Flash, but before we’ve even seen any forthcoming versions of the fastest man alive, we already have a roster of five characters from which to choose. One character that excites me the most when thinking about this new card is not actually a version of The Flash. In fact, it’s not even a DC character. The first thing I thought about when I saw this card was the possibilities of a team-attack between The Flash and Elektra, Masterless Assassin. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an article over at VSSystem.com detailing a deck I piloted to second place finish at the Luton Elite Series event. The deck basically revolved around abusing Elektra and combining her with Quicksilver, Terrigenesis Rebirth for some hefty attacks. We may just have found another way to increase the potency of the deck with the addition of some silky Speed-Force shenanigans.
Yesterday, over at VSSYSTEM.COM “THE” Ben Seck kicked off the DC Legend preview articles in typical fashion, by revealing the first couple of cards and running through the basic framework of the expansion. One of the items that TBS confirmed for the set was the return and importance of identities. I guess it’s quite fitting that the second expansion in the new age of Vs re-introduces us to the use of the identity characteristic. During Vs. System’s early years, it was the second expansion – DC Origins – that first introduced us to the name after the diamond, history seems to be repeating itself. Can The Flash move that fast? It would seem, from the teaser art on Ben’s article, that we will see some more Flash goodness during the course of the day. I, for one, will be eagerly scouring the online community for other previews and I’m sure I won’t be on my own – Squire, I’m looking at you.
I absolutely love this card. I am a huge Flash fan and I cannot wait until it come to the point where it is turn 6, I backup with Wally West <> The Flash, attack directly with Barry via this card and then ready him to attack the 6 drop. Sweet Speed Goodness.
Wow.... This would be godly in a Speed Force deck....
I do hope that it's still good in JLA though, as it seems like both of the plots twist cards we've seen that could go in JLA would be dead cards if you don't control specific characters.
We'll just have to wait and see I suppose... Oh well, I'm really excited about this card.
