Can I use a ko effect to ko the ko'ing character.

Example:

I have 3 drop Richards's Rival in play, and 2 drop Deadly rose. The cards that I want is on top of the deck, and I also want to search for a location. May I, use Poision Ivy's ability, target Dr. Doom with the KO to place the effect on the chain, and then KO Ivy to Dr. Doom's effect? In doing so, I would first place the top card of my deck into my resource row, and then search my deck for the desired location. Leaving me with neither character in play, but the Plot Twist and Location in my resource row?

I disbelieve that this would work, since each effect is a cost, but I have been wrong before.

No, because part of paying for ivy is KOing him.

Therefore he never has chance to use his ability in responce.
