OK, so many may not remember me or anyone at all, but I used to be very attached to this game and I think I still are. I had a car accident about 8 months ago, I almost died and all (turn out I'm allergic to practically anything they gave me and that doesn't help recovery at all). Anyways my friends gave me a vague explanation to what happened to the game but I need to know the real reason behind it. I love both Lengends sets and I don't think the game should end after so strong sets. Anyways I still know how to play the game and since I don't have a car, they replaced me in my job, my girlfriend is now my ex-girlfriend and can't study this semester until I fix some things (turns out almost dying it's not an excuse for being absent to class) I have some free time in my hands. So, can I get the latest news in the past half year of Vs. System?
Of course we remember you, and we are glad to see that you made it through.
We don't really know exactly what happened, but it seems that sales were not good enough to continue the Pro Circuit. So there is an emphasis now on local stores and Hobby League. Production numbers for the two Legends sets seem to be drastically reduced, so singles and boxes are worth big money. The mothership has been running votes to help determine the direction of the next set, currently called Marvel Universe and featuring Civil War. It seems we will only have two sets per year now. You can find that stuff in the Archive News at www.vssystem.com.
The Realms is much happier and healthier now. The community has lost a great deal of hate. There are a bunch of cool new blogs in a sticky thread at the top of General Discussion. The future looks good.
We have no more money prizes, but we have three Mega-Weekends and a World Championship on the horizon and we will be playing for uncut sheets:
Thanks Stu. I missed you. So now there's City Champs, Mega Weekends and World Champs. Doesn't sound so bad but the thing I miss the most is that thanks to the new layout of the cards, I don't think there will be more EA goodness. :(
Instead of EA's, most Marque Event Tournaments, Hobby League Kit Prizes, etc. have actually been "mini-set" cards.
Essentially promo-exclusive cards from small 20/30-card sets (such as Age of Apocalypse). (Many of these cards are also available at certain times from the UDE point store as redemption for point-card-codes found in packs).
