This place is crowded!!! To the rafters!!! Approx. 105 Vs. players from around the globe (but mostly California and its outlying territories). We're about to start, so I have to go, but I'll be back in a few with some killer (unedited) coverage.
In an effort to get as many realms names attached to real faces this weekend, i give you our humble photo coverage. I'll keep this updated throughout the day so check back often. follow the link and enjoy:
Wow. THanks for taking a crap on this already OSM. The event is only 2 hours in, so it might be a bit early for coverage. And 100+ in the opening event isn't a bad start after a compete shutdown of OP. Let's keep our minds open for the moment, OK?
And MANY thanks from those of us trapped outside of California go to Billy for posting the photos and keeping us up-to-date. I know I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the pics. I hope someone will consider coming to Chicago/New York to do the same thing. One question though: any reason there's no art on the playmats other than the VS System logo?
Wow. Thanks for taking a crap on this already OSM.
my comment wasn't meant to read as "I'm taking a crap on all of the efforts of the super-cool diehards in CA."
really, I forgot about the timezone shift (4 hrs), so it didn't dawn on me that things haven't started up yet. my bad.
Alex wins the roll and elects to take evens… Ludin scoffs with a “sure, bro” like he’s already got this thing in the bag. HAHAH. We’ll see…
Turn 2
Alex announces his Darkseid-E-ness with a Malice Wunderbar. Ludin proclaims his Checkmate plans with Sarge Steel and then… pass.
Turn 3
Ahmed and Dark Firestorm join the party. Some boring stuff happened here and then we moved on to turn 4. Really, I was busy watching TBS get “it” handed to him at the gunslinging table. No TBS, that IG jank pile is not a good choice.
Turn 4
Darkseid and Bizarro show up. Wow, Ludin appears to be in for some beats here. The deck to beat this weekend has certainly proven to be BizarroWorld variants, adding up to a significant portion of the field. That said, the deck that all Biz Worlders fear is Darkseid and his Dark Matter draining.
Ludin, trying to regain his composure, asks Alex the always inane and useless question, “how many card?”
10 cards, Ludin. TEN!
Darkseid into Sarge for the stun. Next, Firestorm plus a Savage Beatdown into Bizarro. Ludin flips Biz World and plays a From The Darkness targeting the Beatdown. Alex flips and uses a Dark Matter Drain to get the B-World. Everything resolves and Firestorm is stunned. Alex has to pass.
Sensing a moment of weakness, Ludin sends Biz into Darkman. Alex powers up and plays Lord of Apokolips to brick and get the stun. Ahmed activates, fetches out another Bizarro World. Ludin then flips Ego and locks down Dark Matter Drain. He flips the fetched B-World. Alex plays Have A Blast and Ludin responds with Iron Extraction on Firestorm. He dies and the B-World disappears, again.
Ludin: 41
Alex: 44
Turn 5
Ludin grabs another Bizarro World with Ahmed (poor overworked Ahmed) then recruits Black Thorn and a Steel Girder for Bizarro. YAY!!! Someone is playing that card!!!
Alex plays Mobilize to get his Dark Superboy who is placed in front of the 4-drop Darkseid.
Ludin ships the Girder’d Bizarro into Darkseid but Ludin has the Against All Odds to brick and force the next turn. Yes, Alex passed. Apparently, he didn’t have an answer for the supremely awesomely awesome might of steel forged into girder.
Turn 6
Alex plays Dark Kryptonian and subs in Dark Firestorm for his 2-drop, targeting Dark Superboy with the unstunnable effect. Ludin recruits the 4-drop Mystique and names Doom to toss on the underplayed Armor of Doom.
Alex sends Superboy into Biz. Ludin plays Force Field Projection to stunt the attack. Alex takes a year to think about his next move. Ludin begins to whine about his bad luck.
“I can’t beat this deck, WAH WAH WAH… I like to pretend I’m a girl on VsRealms. WAH.” – Ludin

I'm a bit testy about the whole thing anyway. My apologies for being a dick and so quickly assuming we had begun a "VS is dead" thread again.
