If you want DC to continue being a part of VS, I suggest contacting DC Comics. Please send them a constructive letter / forum post / email letting them know you want to see DC Comics continue to be a part of Versus System.

Edit: Paul Levitz is the Director of Licensing. Thanks Runaway. Also, please include with your letter a copy of "Rallying Cry!" DJL-188 Common Plot Twist and also maybe a copy of one of your favorite DC Versus cards.
I didn't see a forum dedicated to VS... maybe there should be or we can hijack some other semi-appropriate forum.
I plan to not only ask them to continue with Versus, but to ask if they would cross promote VS as well! Since DC is headquartered in NYC, I wish we could get a DC big wig to show up to the upcoming Mega Weekend there. I think if we got some DC big wig to feel the VS love (TM Aceswolf), things would be a lot better.
I've often wondered why we as a community were always so quick to blame UDE for everything supposedly wrong with our game. Nevertheless, we would never think to address those who owned the rights to the comic book characters that we love.
I would rather address Marvel or DC first rather than speculate on the marital future of VS and the intellectul property of either of these two comic book giants. I, personally see us contacting DC and eventually Marvel as being something long over due. I am ready to hear what all other parties involved have to say...
While I have seen fans turn the tides in several cases (Farscape, a Firefly movie, a few other entertainment projects) I don't understand how a petition will do anything in this case. UDE will either agree to pay DC for the licensing rights (and meet the other expectations) or they won't. 1000 or more petitions won't get DC to drop its fees to UDE. In fact, I doubt declaring a boycott of their books will have a huge impact as I am sure that DC (and parent company Warners) gets petitions everytime Superman gets a hair cut.
The negotiation is either going to happen or not. UDE might need to be convinced that they need DC, DC does not need UDE.

Superman is not blue. Or red. Nor does he have long black hair.
Hal Jordan is alive, well and Green Lantern again.
Whether it's personal taste or fans complaining ... they have pretty much put Superman back to normal every time he got a hair cut ;)
most constructive post in the past 24 hours...... good show.... after the initial shock, followed by remorse, anger and a few other steps i have calmed down enough to see reason and look at the future of vs and see a sliver of hope that they can get something going soon.
oh and i am writing out a letter and sending it out not only to DC but also UDE.
Run and I were discussing this whole event earlier today, and he came up with some fairly solid points, ideas:
No e-mails. Its fairly easy for them to hit delete and forget about it.
He also cited that maybe we should try and band together fellow cardflippers, and once we get the address or name of DC's head of licensing, we should direct numerous envelopes with our favorite VS DC cards inside, as a show that VS has various fans who support DC, and want to see future DC sets.
Problem with DC is they want all original art on their cards. So even though you may not like the old comic art on cards, it's saving VS a lot of money. DC just doesn't want to take a blind eye to this. Sorry guys, I say drop DC if it means saving VS System.

Thats the thing though if DC drops I believe that would be the end of VS. I read Marvel mostly. But when we say drop DC we are talking about BATMAN, SUPERMAN...
You know I was all over NYCC, and Geoff Johns LOVED my TRHC shirt. we talked Vs, and he was generally a very nice guy. The majority of the people I interacted with responded positively to (well the shirt), and my dedication to promoting the game. I think DC will make a deal, but sending emails/letters is a great idea.

If DC drops, then probably more Indy titles will be brought in to make people not too sick of all Marvel sets. That isn't too bad, considering the success of the Hellboy starter.
Sending DC letters is a great idea, and may sway their mind somewhat, but ultimately, UDE and DC have to reach some agreement. It is like DC is on strike, and UDE has to make them a new contract; it can take a long time, but has to be done if VS wants to keep the DC license in it's game.
Just posted this on the DC site using the link provided by The MadHatter:

subject: What - no DC Universe for VS? thread:As the title implies: why won't or can't we have a timely release of DC sets for the Versus trading card game?
Feel free to follow-up with constructive comments. It's in the general discussion section.
mad props to the MadHatter for some great work in coming up with some links for those of us who wish to let our voice be known. it's good to see you gentlemen get out of the box and come up with some great ideas and concepts for constructively moving forward here,we blast 'em with enough e-mails/letters and so forth, they start paying attention if not we give it a helluva shot and can move on knowing we individually did our part to get DC back in the mix here
Anything is better than just sitting around being bummed about this. Maybe it won't change anything, but we can't know until we attempt. Thanks for the info.
