Who wouldn't be grabbed in by photo ops with beautiful women in superhero costumes hanging out at a Vs booth at a convention?
Are there enough gals that already play that would be willing to go skimpy for a couple of days in trade for Vs product? How much product would it take to get some gals to do this if they were existing players?
What about hiring models/actor-wanna-bes for the job? More expensive, right? But LOTS of free publicity in EVERY gaming mag that attended the event.
Are you women folks out there willing to do something like this? Is UDE already considering this kind of promotion? If not, why not?
There could of course be guys dressed as supers as well, but really, cater to your demographic, right?

That would be epic, and it would make the volunteers of the demo team a little happier with having to stand around the booth all day.
Haha!
I support this idea.
The Spoils was awesome, there was no doubt about that. And the ladies did help me learn how to play when I went to Comic-Con a few years ago. However, it is kind of trashy.

It takes a lot of pop culture references. And the decks that are broken, are ungodly.
Example - My banker/warlord deck never lost.

Yeah, the game itself was not trashy, the cards were funny and stuff, and it was a fairly well balanced game. However, the idea of having a bunch of beauty-standard set woman to get you into a game is kind of demeaning/insulting to both the women and the players.

Well t'challa decided to try to level that out by having guys dress up as well. So somehow its a little more balanced.
I know some girls would wouldn't even hesitate to learn the game if a hot Batman was teaching them
The idea of using "sexy" not "sex" to sell something isn't that far fetched, and staying on theme, such as comic costumed characters "on patrol" of the gaming arena, and the game gets loads of attention.
A few years back I heard about some place that used costumed people to enact a live action heroclix game somewhere. The idea was pretty spiffy. Vs could use every golden goose it can find to keep itself afloat and higher visibility has got to account for something.
Or they're out the money to pay the characters and rent the costumes, and the whole thing smacks of desperation and doesn't bring any new eyeballs over.
yeah i would just hope to shoot for better looking women to be in these get ups. I havent met any females at any TCG that i would likely lay down with and i am sure alot of the females playing TCGs would probably say the same about the guys.
However sex sales and that is fact, not fiction, whether you love it or not it sells.
Here is a new argument for that demeaning to women comment as well.
Women fought for Equal Rights and the Right to have their voices heard and their decisions made for by themselves right?
Well this isn't forced labor. Any woman who does so is doing it willingly by her own choice and receiving compensation for doing so.
Seriously, folks-- the internet has PLENTY of porn available for free, where you actually get to SEE the boobies instead of just imagining what they look like under the frayed rental costume.
Booth babes are a cheap gimmick. Unless you actually get to sample the goods, all you're doing is giving yourself blue balls.
Booth babes are a gimmick, yes? But you know what they are, don't you? Sounds to me like somebody else already got you to notice their booth babes in the past, huh?
Sounds to me like whether you like it or not, you have already accidentally become a statistic and helped prove that gimmicks are not automatically to be dismissed as worthless.
I'm starting to see why/where this game has it's troubles centered primarily. Too many of it's current players are gamers not comic book fans. I knew that would eventually become a biger problem for the game, but now i see that it has likely been the problem all along.
