Was it amazing? Were you disappointed with anything? Any great/horrible plays? Did you get your picture taken with one of the wandering pokemon? (I sure didn't). Who were some of the super-cool-amazing-tastic people you got to meet? ......
I loved it. Other than not finding the UDE area at first because of the lack of vs visuals, the event was (insert positive adjective here).
---------
(personal plug) people I met (in no particular order since its 3am my time): MSU Hitman, one of his infrequent poster buddies, 2 greenlantern#### guys, TBS!!!, Dietseto, Ashton, Anthony C, tchalla, silkmane, lockesythe, Quackers, Aaron Onyxweapon & his posse, more & saw others again. I misplayed a fastball special with a support row guy and a front row guy against one person and it wasn't caught until 2 turns later so I felt bad when I won. He was po'd. The guy who watched our game near the end said I played well so props to mr mystery guy. Congrats to Kurt for the T-8 and zomg THE CAPTAIN!!! Yeah totally taking 1st place at worlds like everyone and their mother said. Brian roks. My shuttle almost ran over David Humphreys Saturday after the events. Onyxweapon's golden deck was the nutz my spider clones had no game on that stuff and you giving me that dr strange is going to net you rep for every chance I can and remember. Then TBS ... well, I'll just wait on that bit until I upload a picture, will edit later.
edit: picture is up! Also, the mad hatter just reminded me (story time); So, I'm sitting in the hotel lobby eating dominoes pizza with my roomates when Cliff and his posse and the mad hatter hit the scene. Eventually I learn he's on the realms, and he asked me who I was. I said let's play 10 questions on it, and I'll give you a hint, I've posted often. Without ANY questions, he guessed it! Props to him! lol.

So many stories, so little time. It's 6 am and just rolled in from Ohio, so the stories will have to wait until later, but the event was awesome. I had a great time. This event was centered around fun instead of the usual intensity that came with PCs. This is what it should be like. There will be more later, but if you missed the Community Celebration downtown, holy cow.
Worlds was simply amazing. Sure I didn't get any where near a winning record in any of the events I played in but I met amazing people. Oh and I curse Orange_Soda_Man for beating me and getting to choose the Total Anarchy mat instead of the Thor one.
I had a great time. I didn't play in worlds. But I met so many awesome peeps. Lost to Tim and Niles in a cake draft. Whatever, it was goofy and I got to draft. Meeting all the realms radio guys was the highlight of my weekend by far. Got a few live and in person rants from Cliff... Lots of fun. Wish I could have put a deck together to play, but oh well. Didn't do as much coverage as I had intended to do for Lost Hemisphere, but I'm lazy.
I had an awesome time. didnt do nearly a well as i had hoped but for good reason and it was a good time overrall, i met a ton of people here on the realms, some of you were as i imagined some of you were just so far off the mark for what i imagined, but now i know, and it's nice to put a name to a face and personality. i didnt get to post reports onmy blog but fatalsync had that well in hand and the weekend was almost way too busy to report if you were playing in the events.
Yep Worlds was an awesome event and it was great to meet all the realmers and put a face with a name. I hope we are all getting together this time next year for the second ever Vs. Worlds Championship.
Like I said I met alot of the Vs. Realms inhabitants including Orange Soda Man, Silkmane, Lockesythe, several others I can't remember their realms named but everyone was great.
I would like to thank one realmers particulaly, Kansashoops (Brian Foley). I didn't get a chance to introduce myself as someone from the realms Brian but I was the guy you loaned the 4 flying kicks 30 minutes before the silver age event on saturday. I really appreciate you letting me use those cards. It made a difference in the games I managed to win. It goes to show what type of people play Vs. and what type of community this actually is. Anyway thanks again Brian, next time we are at an event if you need cards I owe you one or 4. :)
And finally, thanks to the UDE crew for putting the whole thing togther pretty well flawlessly. You guys did a good job and worked hard all weekend.
One final shout out to a couple of guys from my crew that I play with at least every other week, Tom Perry (pterodactyl) on the realms and Darrell Rife (sorry Darrell forgot your realms name--I know I am dead to you now--LOL) who actually both did great duing the main silver age event of the weekend. Tom won the whole event netting an overall record of 10-0 and Darrell finished fourth due to a loss in the top 8 against Tom. To bad you guys couldn't have met in the finals. Well congrats to both of you guys, and thanks for the encouragment and assitance in getting me ready for my first major event. Next year we rule the world. :)
Maybe I will see you all at Gen Con this year or the next megaweeked after that depending upon the location. Well gotta go unfortunatly real life beckons. To bad everyday can't be like Worlds where you wake up, play VS. all day, eat, sleep and repeat.
I had a great time at Worlds. I was really worried about UDE's committment to the game, but after this weekend, I can say one thing for sure...
If Ben Seck has anything to do with it, Vs. will be supported as long as the players want it to be.
That man has nothing but love for this game, and he made that very clear this weekend. He was absolutely loving every minute of watching everyone play with his new cards, took questions from everyone, showed us all an AWESOME time with the world championships of Vs. Trivia, and overall contributed an awesome presence to the weekend.
The other great part was the innovation in the decks people brought. Brian Eugenio's deck was a great idea... I thought Dirty Tricks and Shape Changing for 10 was a good stall strategy, I guess KO'ing an opponent's character every turn is a bit better!
Congrats to Brian Eugenio, a great player and a great deck!
Worlds was great. i didnt go to NY but the prizes and giveaways were great. 5-2 day 1. (I lost to a team mate) Mike BigMike(dont remember the #)on realms 9who was top 8.(. and Dan (blizzard deck, another top 8ter <~~~not a word). Day 2, I 3-0 first draft. With one win to secure that I top 8 I PUNTED it away. i went 0-3 second pod (what a loser , i know). Niles and his infinite 1 drops was my last lost (Damn you niles!) lol JK. Met some koo people.Met Cliff (who was hilarious)and orangesoda man in the lobby helped me finish my deck the night before Day 1. I was the Hawaiian looking guy (somewhat long hair but just mexican) Kurt and friends was koo (sorry "friends" i forget names), and more i just dont remember realm names. Other than me being really mad day 2 it was really fun. Radioactive man is great (I (and two others from wiscago played, "Infected" Ultron/Radioactive man deck). Funny thing is i started thursday off with 0 cards for the deck and got almost everything i needed (minus two mobilizes) by friday morning. hope to see you guys in gen con ill be there.
I'm glad to hear that everyone had a good time... as was predicted.
Because it's not just about the location/prizes/company/PTO/game... VS has a strong player community which is part of the current success VS is having despite the obstacles.
Worlds was so amazing I descirbed my time in my thread but I have to say making day 2 and going 7-6 on my first vs. event is amazing I finished 46th so im not complaining I'm hoping to see some info on gen con so I can try and get some cash together to go to that.

Can't wait to see some of you at GenCon Indy!
When is the next big So Cal event! I know you have inside info...............
This is the best event I've been to by far. Kudos to all who were there as well as the organizers, judges, UDE staff, Pastimes, etc.
I went last year to Gen Con, and it was good, above average. The next event I attended was MW Chicago. That was great and I enjoyed it tremendously. So I was thinking, if Origins could be as good as MW Chicago, then it would be a terrific event. Well it was better by far.
I loved the side events as much I loved playing in World's, Day 1. (I went 3-4). What was cool was the prizes given out. Many times they gave the prize to the winner of that paticular match, so in a sense, you earned that prize.
But the best part in my opinion, was meeting and playing against the other VS players out there, some on the Realms, others not. All in all it was a great time.
