This wording has me a bit worried...

You can use Star-Lord's power, targeting a 4-drop, and then find a way to return him to your hand before his effect resolves. That works fine to stun the opposing 4-drop. But from your post, it almost sounds like you're trying to do the opposite, which I can't quite figure out.

There's nothing especially weird in this scenario, it's just a regular case of the order of resolving things. Star-Lord needs to be in play to activate, but you want him out of play when he resolves---so you find a way to remove him while his effect is on the chain.

We could always say your 3000th's post was wasted on screaming the merits of coin flips in the Little Deck thread. No one will be wiser. ;)
