In terms of equipment for primary characters, Blade's had three movies - you could easilly justify legend treatment for him, and load him up on Wooden Stakes and Silver Bullets.
Then, of course, Beta Ray Bill needs Stormbreaker...
If you wanted to dip into lower tiers, you could do stuff like Talisman's Medicine Bag, or Frank Drake's nanotech gun Linda.
I'm really starting to get excited with these new game mechanics coming into play for the next set. Makes me feel like I came in at a really good time. I admit I was a little worried about the possible last-legged-ness looming in the air when I began my investigation into Vs., but it's these new game mechanics that I really feel will help Vs. really step up on the CCG stage.
Myself for example. I've avoided games like this all my life, but for the past six months, I have been ruthlessly beating this game into my head in an awful game of catch-up, because I feel that this game is THAT GOOD. So for now, while I go through my growing pains of learning, Vs. itself is pretty much doing the same by shedding it's golden age skin. Once the dust settles from this upcoming release, Vs. will be stronger as a game, and it will have aquired at least one new loyalist. (moi.)
Take care, I look forward to many more awesome shows to come.

I can't believe I forgot about Stormbreaker. BTW, I saw a full sized replica at the comic shop the other day. I don't know how old it was (you already probably own it) but it was hellasweet.

That's a GREAT attitude! Welcome to our game and our show!

What's up, Hive Mind? I ran out the door to work right after my last post. I've been reading Simonson's THOR run during my ride to work lately and wondered if Bill was going to get a Stormbreaker card since this sub-set looks like it's going to be equipment-centric. I hope the homies at UDE are reading this, unless they are already on top of it.

Oh, I so wish... kinda hard to justify the expense to the Missus though, that puppy ain't exactly $20. Feel free to pick it up, donate it to the BOTB prize pool to be given as a prize to the most Australian player in attendance named Chris Miller ;)
Turn 1
Shift Cable, Mutant Messiah - 1
Turn 2
Recruit Proteus and put a shift counter on cable. - 2
Turn 3
Pay 3 resource points and activate proteus. - 6
Activate Panoptichron on proteus -8
Bring in Cable
Ouch.
Keep in mind, you can only shift a character into play if you have that many resources, so you can't put an 8-drop into play until turn 8.
The keyword Shift means: "Pay 1 or more resource points >>> Remove this card from the game shifted with that many shift counters. Use only if this card is in your hand."
Cards have two additional powers while shifted: "Pay 1 resource point >>> Put a shift counter on this card."
"Remove X shift counters >>> Put this card into play if you control X or more resources, where X is its cost. Use only during your recruit step."
Note - putting a character into play using Shift DOES check the uniqueness rule (like Substitute and recruiting does)
