Its a strange title thread but yes, VS does exsist outside of the US, sorry, it used to.
I was the central dude to get VS cards in the canberra region, aussieland. Now we ####s get any VS product what's so ever.
USA UDE you must be proud in this final chapter of the game of VS. Pirates now out sells you, are you proud?
Its been a fun trip with VS but I am done and dusted. A speacial mention to Ben Seck, way to screw over a countryman. A little communication may have eased the final nail in the coffin of UDE selling cards to people outside the US.
The USA dudes get bad raps here, this news that the US is soley the only place to purchase VS cards is so sad.
Its been a fun trip with VS but I am done and dusted.
This is the happiest day of my life.
*sniff*
As to the contents of your misguided rant: UDE North America has nothing to do with the game being dropped by UDE International. Marvel didn't want to license UDE:I the rights to its characters outside of North America, so they can't sell it there. Simple as that.
you are so misguided in your understanding of reality its very very frightening.
You think that the international UDE crew have nothing to do with the parent company? sheesh....moronic response dude.
Actually, he was saying that Marvel was responsible since they did not give the rights to UDE:I for their license outside North America. If you had any concept of reading comprehension, you would have understood that ####tard.
bignuts if UDE International doesn't bring the product to you then try and acquire it in another fashion. If you really love the game something as simple as going to eBay or online stores would fix the problem, Vs. is always just a click away. I don't think it's that complicated, it might suck but you would of gotten Vs and thats what you wanted anyway. Also just because Ben Seck is your countryman doesn't mean he has to tell you sh!t . It would of been nice yes but its not an obligation the guy has. I understand your mad and angry because of what has happened but going on random rants and insulting people isn't going to help at all.
Bluey your response says that I can take it. Damn straight.
I agree that I can source VS from the interwebs but its not the same coming 3-4 weeks later. That sounds like I am a spoilt brat to expect that VS cards at the same time as the US. *go figure*
My ballz are in a rash cos of the stress of no VS, does anyone have any cream (not happy cream)?
I can understand bignuts anger personally. The fact that UDE: I decide not to tell anyone until just before the release (according to the suppliers anyway) is really irritating! So now the UK has no prize support and no VS for sale. Yeah thats a great way to keep a game that desperately needs people playing to keep on going. Seriously, if they just want to dump it, why not just kill it after the last release.
Yes we could go and get the boxes from America but I would rather support my local game shop and now he has the awesome job of getting some in...which will no probably cost more money. Its lucky for him that we've got a core group that will buy it.
So who the hell do we blame? Marvel? UDE: I? Suppliers? Cause if it was Marvels fault for not giving the licence, then surely UDE: I would put something on their webs...oh yeah thats right. They don't bother any more.
Gah. I'm just getting depressed over no release celebrations, prizes, new shiny smelly cards and etc. We'll get our fix soon. Hope all you lucky Americans are enjoying ripping those boosters open. Do me a favour - open one for me? :D
Here's my take:
UDE International is a division of UDE
It is a sales division
They probably don't have a sales quota for VS
Their drive is to sell other products and make it grow
They probably aren't the same people who were handling VS
They don't have a responsibility to sell VS
If they did sell VS, it would mean nothing to their year end report and job appraisal
Marvel licensing is also on a per region basis
It must cost tons of money to be able to get that license
UDE probably figured they can't recoup that licensing fee and decided not to renew the international license
No quota was then set for UDE:I to sell the product
All the quota for VS is the responsibility of UDE's US division
We're forced to buy VS from the graymarket and US retailers
That's the future of VS
If you don't wanna go thru the hassle, it's time to move on then.
If you want it, you have to look for a distributor that will give ya a good price.
Just don't expect it to be a two-way relationship with UDE anymore. They sell a product and it's our option to buy it or not. There are bonuses like the UDE point store, but that's just an incentive.
I agree that I can source VS from the interwebs but its not the same coming 3-4 weeks later. That sounds like I am a spoilt brat to expect that VS cards at the same time as the US.
Better late than never, at least thats the way I think.
And no you don't sound like a spoiled brat you sound like a fan (well maybe a little spoiled). I had to order from the web and my sh!t still isn't here and I am getting anxious but I love this game so I put up with it. As long as there is Vs. to play I'll support it in one way or another.
we have a sales rep and organizer for UDE I that hangs out at our store here in Rotterdam. So far the big game he is pushing on us is WoW miniature game...... I will not comment further other than to say he gets in a twist when we tell him the game is crap.
His take in telling us about vs. VS is to be discontinued from every vendor world wide and no more releases nor tournaments will happen again, even in the US.........
Well to say this guy is a bit of a liar is not to exaggerate. It seems though that UDE:I is throwing in behind WoW mini game
