I was just done with a game, but a question still lingers in my mind.

Scenario: I have a Punisher, Guns Blazing with M60s and Scattergun equipped. My buddy team-attacks with Black Panther 1 drop and Blade, Independent Contractor into me, but fails due to power-ups. I stunned his Blade, which KOs. Scattergun then stuns Panther. Then the issue came.

Should Panther also be KO'ed as part of Punisher's effect? Or does it not get KO'ed because it got stunned by Scattergun and not Punisher? I thought it was the former, but my buddy says otherwise.

What's the answer?

I am going to say no, as Punisher states that "whenever he stuns a character KO it." Scattergun, however, is the one doing the stunning, not Punisher.

Speedy is right. Since it isn't Punisher stunning Black Panther, but the Scattergun, Punisher doesn't KO the Panther.

Speedy is correct. The source of the stun is the Scattergun, so Punisher did not stun it.

if the scatter gun KO'd him wouldnt that also mean you could stun another char with cost <= that char? So if they had 10 1costs out you could stun/KO them all? But since the stun comes from the equip it doesnt trigger?

When Punisher stuns a character, while Scattergun is equipped, then you can stun a character with cost less than or equal to the cost of the character Punisher stunned. The source of that stun is the equipment, so it doesn't trigger off of its own stuns (as the equipped character isn't stunning a character).

I think he thought that Scattergun stuns all of the characters with same cost but lower than the original stunned character?

Hypothetically, yes! If the second charactera legally KO'd in this scenario, it would mean that Punisher had stunned him and thus another character could be stunned and KO'd. However, the reason it does not function like that, as everyone has already mentioned, is simply due to the fact that the second stun originates from Scattergun and not Punisher.
